Yesterday, I was sitting on the back porch of a friend's place in Brooklyn, when all of the sudden, windows were raised, back doors slammed open and all throughout this one block in Park Slope, the news of Michael's death was shouted from window to window to porch to yard. It was such a very astounding, surreal moment that this news should be disseminated in such a Molly Goldberg fashion, though we may be living in the midst of the 21st century's hi-tech Age Of Information, and I cannot imagine it happening anywhere else but in Brooklyn.
