Re: Displaced Radical Faeries

Nancy Isla ·
I am sorry this post is a long and scattered but since it is fresh in my mind everything came out all at once. My tenses are screwey, and my spelling is a bit off, so patience please... Hey Mom, You would have loved it all! I am by no means a camper, and I dealt with it just fine. I was afraid it would be 200 homos huddled around a habachi (sp?) cooking an eggplant, but they have the system DOWN! Meals are regular 3 times a day. People are asked to participate any way they feel...

One of the many other memorable moments was the night we all witnessed the sacrifice of Justin's original Kiki dress. It was a cinematographer's wet dream. It was a dark and rainy night; we (Pickles, Granite, Garrett, Denise and Francis, Goneaway, Scooter) went all the way out to memorial ridge for the beginning of the ritual. All of us crouched down in a circle with black umbrellas, granite created a ceremonial circle of rocks and candles. We all tried to keep the candles lit as Granite...

I'm back Y'all Beltaine goes down as one of the most beautiful on record. Hush agrees, it was one of the most stunning. More sun then you could ask for, almost too much at times. I love that day. This year there was no DJ set up , it was decided to just use drums and no electronics. I must say that it made everything clearer somehow. Every year I am amazed at the spectacle that is created. The magic that can be evoked. After all the ribbons had been twisted around the pole and the drums were...

Yeah, Glammy, it seemed that Tracy only showed up for one day to make her star appearance at the No-Talent Show. What a diva. There are so many moments to speak of, but this year I've got to give my props to Miss Nature. She was serving up some kind of serenity sandwich with mayo & mystery on a chaos bun. Last years Beltaine Eve seemed to be about endurance --Antler and I standing in front of an everlasting fire while being cleansed by an endless pelting of gigantic rain drops, stripping...

None of my friends would even come with me to Night of 1,000 Stevies, the annual celebration of Nicks, her witchy wardrobe and her wacky ways. “No, I can’t, I have to do laundry,” one lied. Another said he had a hot date, but he hasn’t been laid since 1999.

Re: NOTS Music and DJs (Was: Some concerns about tonight)

Huh??? WTF!!!! I hope I can say that here, but eeekkk...Geez my poor head..Thanks Pretty, you nailed it in your reply here....I can only say a few things on this...& probably shouldn't touch it, as I could go on and on but let me say this.... I know for a fact that feedback of all types is something all of us as performers enjoy as it allows us to fine tune our acts, and to try and bring you the audience some of the best stuff we can...We all work really hard for months leading up to...

OMG! Lizzie Davis you just made me pee my shawl all over again! (and I just had it cleaned after I peed on it during the Pixie Harlots opening number. Now THAT is the number you should do at NOTS! I love that post.

HEW! Xian Scientist... he gets a free whipping for that. Farewell Charming Old Dirt Road! We had a deluge tonight and Shirley Maclaine's well-groomed 7 miles of well-behaved dirt road be GONE! I barely made it along the 2 miles I enjoy. We're back to bedrock, rubble and ruts. I love it. I'm listening to the thunder of the rocks tumbling over each other in the rushing arroyos.

From Jim Fouratt: Hilly Kristal and the CBGB legacy CBGB's was an extended family and a cultural frontier. Hilly was the dad at the door behind BG eying who came and who paid and who did not. Louise was the tireless booker and she held the telephone frontline. Lisa and Robert the real children grew up in and around the club. No one who observed her can ever forget his first wife, the hectoring, seemingly crazy one, who would pop up when ever she needed money or his last companion who gave...

Poetry reading at ABC NO RIO 1989 Early February. 12 degrees outside A bulldozer working next door ‘accidentally’ knocks half the East wall off. There is no heat to begin with.. Among the five people there I remember the monumental J.D. Rage and Eduardo Arrocha the last tattooed man at the Coney Island Freak Show before it closed. Snow was falling in the room. I remember J.D. read this poem where she said something bad about God and right then there was a big roll of thunder outside that...

Had too much fun this trip - we still have about 36 hours left but wanted to file the report now while it is fresh. Have to say I love, love, love this town - when one is here, one is truly Elsewhere! Highlights this time: - We went out last weekend with Dale DeVere and Champain, who were coincidentally here on R&R for our first five days. Dale got a car and driver so we decided to go clubhopping, especially to check out some nooks and crannies in rather borderline nabes that we might...
