Memorial Day weekend: More dykes than you can shake a rubber dick at, Isla would wear out her rug-munching tongue. More pre-summer bleached blondes than you can shake a can of bleach at, with their also bleached mates in matching Sergio Valenti and earthshoes. Why do dykes have the most amazing hairstyles on the planet? When I was around the age of 25 I had two things that I wanted to do with my life. To be on Broadway are Drive race cars. I had done alot of theater at this point and the racing that I had done was pretty good and most poeple thought that I could go along way in racing. I decided to stay in NY and continue acting. The point to this little story is that in the time that I was thinking about racing fulltime I allways had this little dream in my head about how I could go aroung the country...

History Wrestles Commerce in Meatpacking District By DENNY LEE (NYT, 8/11/02) The three-year drive to confer landmark status on the meatpacking district is taking on a new urgency. What began as a low-key investigation of warehouses and blood-soaked Belgian blocks has quickened this summer into a race that pits preservationists against developers. "We're hitting a critical juncture," said Andrew Berman, executive director of the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation. "Several...

I just got my 10th massage in 6 weeks. I think all 10 add up to the price of 1 in NY! Thai massages are rough, but they make my back feel alright again. I got one in Vietnam that was a bit different. She did a lot with her feet, walking on my back and the back of my legs. I guess fat people don't give massages. Well, the 6 fat people in Vietnam will manage to find other occupations. Maybe it IS the diet in Asia, but I'm skeptical. Thang is over 30 and packs away beer like a German truck...

Farewell charming old lines outside of nightclubs! Finally, no more waiting around to get into all my favorites: Cielo, Spirit, et al. It's PartyBuddys! Yesterday's NYT had a fascinating story about a couple of alleged former Limelight habitues, who are putting their club-smarts to good use: PartyBuddys helps Joe and Jane Schmos bypass lines and gain instant access to VIP lounges at all of the city's top clubs -- for a fee. I am so down with the hire-a-paparazzo, too. A steal at $250/night.

Who Was the Lady In the Dunes? One of the most enduring mysteries in Provincetown is that of the "Lady In the Dunes..." In 1974, the body of a young woman was found out by Race Point, the cause of death was blunt trauma, her face disfigured and her hands had been removed. For over 30 years she has remained unidentified and her killer has never been found. Now they have done a computer reconstruction of what her face most likely looked like, in the hopes that someone may finally identify her.

Recently we discovered the dog run at Stuyvesant Park, open only during evenings. My bat-earred Frenchie Napoleon loves how much room there is there, he ran around tonight with a Pug like he was on a race track. I don't care for the fact that it's all concrete, but apart from that I like the space and the mellow crowd. Sometimes I take him on little mini-tours where we hit Stuyvesant, then the dog run at Union Square, then we double-back to Tompkins Square Park. By the end of it he's usually...

I think gay is 'packaged' for the media into stereotypes that they can enjoy. The Madonna kiss with Brittany, the cute quirkey funny will n graces, the hot chicks on L word. But thats all not real life, it's sexy packaged. I think anti gay IS on the rise as the RIGHT wing is on the rise and puritanical thoughts, laws and quasi McCarthyism is also slowly, quietly on the rise. These things happen as people are more an more apathetical - very very few kids are political - especially in...

It's true Don Imus has been making condescending un-funny race jokes for years. He gets no sympathy from me. But it's also true that the rap industry is totally culpable in making it fashionable to characterize women as "bitches" and "hos" and to act and speak like a thug. To deny that is to ignore reality. One only need tune in Hot 97 first thing in the morning or watch MTV for 15 minutes to realize how pervasive and widespread the destructive nature of gangsta rap has become, and not just...
