Dear friends and family

As many of you know, Lord D'Drennan, the long time Regent of the Court of Gotham and the legendary metal manipulator who gave us the aesthetic inspiration of the first Legacy Ankh design passed away this week after long suffering. we found his body today.

I am still finalizing details with his family. A memorial will be arranged, and as soon as details are finalized i will let all of you know so that you may pay respects.

I am deeply appreciative of all of your love and support.

D' was an amazing artist, mentor and brother to us all, and his passing is a loss to all who knew him.

Please light a candle for him tonight to help send his soul on the journey to the hereafter.

I'm still in shock from all of this... Please use this as a forum to express your love for him. He is in a better place now, hopefully a place filled with light, love, happiness and peace.

Suzie,

I am here with you soror, this is a terrible loss for us all. Let us stand together to not only make sure he is not just remembered, but that future generations of vampyre know who he was and what he ment to us and the world wide vampyre commmunity. Not only through his amazing artifacts, but him as a person.

Last night I was out in the snow in Union Square with the puppy - the city was quiet and dusted with white glitter and as I was leaving the park I thought - you see, there is still magic here.

Returning home I got the messages about D'Drennan, one of the most magical souls I have ever known in this lifetime. His enormous gifts and big heart added immeasurably to the entire MOTHER era - who else would we have called upon to craft Merlin's sword for the turn of the century Click + Drag?

As so often happens with those who spread such magic, he was not so able to make it for himself. It is very sad for us left behind in a city duller by his passing, but I am sure he is on the way to someplace much more befitting his Lordliness.

Sending deepest condolences to his nearest and dearest, and especially you Suzie - he was lucky to have such a friend.

OFFICIAL MEMORIAL PLANS FOR D'DRENNAN

Dear Friends of D'Drennan,

There are many of us, from many walks of life, who loved and were loved by D. In order to accommodate as many of us as possible, plans have been made by those closest to him for all of us to pay our respects.

A formal memorial ceremony and gathering will be held this Sunday, February 27th at 28 East 23rd Street to create a peaceful sanctuary where we can express freely amongst all manner of family.

You may remember the club when it was known as True. The space (now known as Chetty Red: http://www.chettyred.com/ ) is larger now and the staff is extremely supportive of our situation.

We will open the doors at 6pm and the ceremony will begin at 7pm. Suzi Miles is providing the altar, which is one of D's larger pieces. So, please feel free to bring whatever you wish to adorn the altar all night. This venue has a candle permit, so not only will we be lighting candles in the space, you are welcome to bring and light your own. There will be no cover, as this is a private event, and there will be a cash bar, upstairs and downstairs.

While we have the space for the night, there will be other vigils and less formal wake-style meetings, which we acknowledge and support. The Korova Milk bar will be open from 10pm til the very wee hours, for further reminiscing and closure. There is no rush nor pressure to attend, only a generous invitation that is open to all. If you would like to invite guests to other related events in the next few weeks, you are welcome to share this information on Sunday.

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 27th, 2005
The details are:
FORMAL MEMORIAL
Doors open at 6pm / Ceremony at 7pm
28 East 23rd Street (between Park and Madison)
@ Chetty Red ( http://www.chettyred.com/ )
Very close to the 6 and the N train

D'Drennan was an icon. He shaped his visions and ideas into incredible works of art. He was a friend, a role model, and an inspiration. I was shocked and deeply saddened by the news of his death. My heartfelt sympathies go out to all of his friends and family and to a community who has lost such an important and respected member.

IN MEMORY OF D.

Dear members of the Vampyre / vampire community and Family,

This Thursday is the third anniversary since the passing of Master
Metal Manipulator D'Drennan. The creator of unique Vampyre artifacts,
best known for his legendary creations the Vampyre Ankhs.

P.N. Drerennan (simply D to those who knew him) has a Legacy which
will never be forgotten. What has always been a powerful element of
Immortality of the Self truly lies within those who are remembered. D
was a founding father of the Vampyre community in Gotham, a neutral
individual who loved all and set an example of chivalry, romance,
passion and what the Glamour of being Vampyre truly means.

We was loved by all who knew himx

His vigil was held a week after his death on Valentines Day 2005 in
Gotham and brought together a diverse and beautiful crowd of all
factions of the Vampyre community.

Sir Victor Magnus, a long time member of the Vampyre community in
Gotham Halo, created a tradition to remember him by, the Scarlet Ribbon.

This tradition, we hold dearly in Gotham, and for those of you who do
not know him, ask anyone who did. The response will always be a tear
of love, honor and fond memories.

So whatever ankh you wear find a small purple or scarlet ribbon and
tie it around your ankh. If you do not have any of his ankhs, pin it
on your shirt and wear it from Valentines Day, Crimson Festival for
the Vampyres and for 7 days after February 14th.

On Valentines Day night at midnight Eastern Standard Time. Get a
candle, any candle and light it and howl! D was famous for his
Gotham Howl, Let us be in Chorus to let him know we will never
forget him and that his legacy will continue to be a source of unity
for all who call themselves Vampyre or Black Swan.

With love, fond memories and honor. We will NOT forget you frater!

Eternally,
Sebastiaan Tod van Houten
