About Hype Life Music Festival:
In a recent article for Thump.Vice.Com, writer Josh Baines asks "Why is Every Single Dance Music Festival Line Up Pretty Much the Same?" The piece goes on to question why bookers continue to recycle the same handful of DJs, often making the festivals themselves interchangeable. Memorial Day Weekend of 2016, will bring about the first installment of an event that will honor a segment of Dance and Electronic Music Culture that is seldom included.

On Saturday, May 28th, recording artist/DJ Manchildblack joins forces with music impresario and nightclub owner Eric Sosa to present a unique dance event that will be dedicated to celebrating and showcasing black and brown people in dance and electronic music, the Hype Life Music Fest.

From 12pm to 4am, the walls of Brooklyn music venue C'mon Everybody will reverberate with the eclectic beats spanning the genres of House, Global Soul, Brazilian, Funk, Future Dancehall, Disco, Afrobeat, Electronica and more! The day will include mind blowing sets from: Rich Medina (Jump N Funk/Rock Steady Crew), Ian Friday (Libation/Global Soul Music), DJ Moma (Everyday People/Dance Dance Dance), Natasha Diggs (Soul in the Horn), Adam Rhodes & Oscar Nñ (Papi Juice), DJ Mursi Layne (F'EM DJ Mag), DJ Beto & Ushka (iBomba) and Pablo77 & Zuzuka Poderosa (Brasilian Soul Sundays)! Plus, a special live performance by notorious electronic music duo The Illustrious Blacks.

The Hype Life Music Fest will kick off NYC's Summer of 2016 in a major way, with the 1st installment giving birth to a movement that launches the rise of BDM (black/brown dance music).
