The Lindsey Buckingham Appreciation Society to perform ‘Tusk’ in its entirety Sept. 20 at Littlefield in Brooklyn

The musical pop-up store that is The Lindsey Buckingham Appreciation Society is re-opening to perform Fleetwood Mac’s landmark 1979 album and Lindsey Buckingham’s enduring creative statement ‘Tusk’ in its entirety on Friday, September 20 at Littlefield in Brooklyn, part of a three-date jaunt that plays Johnny D's in Somerville on Thursday, September 19, and Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia on Saturday, September 21.

The band - featuring members of The War on Drugs, Papas Fritas, Pernice Brothers, Buried Beds, Nightlands, and Danielson - first performed ‘Tusk’ in May 2010 at shows in Boston, Brooklyn, and Philadelphia. A slightly altered TLBAS lineup tackled the 1982 follow-up ‘Mirage’ (along with various other Mac and solo Buckingham classics) in February 2012 at shows in Brooklyn and Philadelphia. Each of the five shows were joyous gigs that pleased both the old heads in faded Buckingham-Nicks bootleg tees and young'uns probably conceived while ‘Rumours’ spun in the background.

The lineup this time out features founding members Charlie Hall (vocalist and multi-instrumentalist with Jens Lekman, The War on Drugs, Windsor for the Derby, Tommy Guerrero and leader of the Philadelphia-based male choral ensemble The Silver Ages) and Patrick Berkery (who has played drums with The War on Drugs, Pernice Brothers, Danielson, John Wesley Harding, Mazarin and others) joined by past TLBAS co-conspirators Tony Goddess (Papas Fritas, Jenny Dee & The Deelinquents), Birdie Busch (a Philadelphia-based singer and songwriter), Dave Hartley (The War on Drugs, Nightlands), and Eliza Hardy Jones (Buried Beds).

FINE PRINT: The Lindsey Buckingham Appreciation Society is not a tribute act and does not perform in costume (no chiffon & lace, no denim cutoffs, no wooden balls). The band features no defined character roles and is more a loving exploration of Lindsey Buckingham and Fleetwood Mac's music than a verbatim reproduction.
