Independent curator and producer Earl Dax celebrates the launch of Fishbowl Cabaret – a new multimedia performance series at Monkey Town every Thursday night in April - with a synergistic media and performance orgy on Thursday, April 6. The all-night event begins with an open bar from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM and features preview performances from the 'Fishbowl' series which pairs downtown performers with video artists to create multimedia performance pieces utilizing Monkey Town's unique 4-channel video system.

Catch a first glimpse of work by performance artist Taylor Mac; neo-country art star Larry Krone and composer/director John Moran, his performance partner Saori Tsukada, and video auteurs Katja Loher and Ray Sweeten. Also featured, the first public screening of the 1992 video trailer for Penny Arcade's legendary sex and censorship show "Bitch!Dyke!Faghag!Whore!" created by Arcade's longtime collaborator, video producer Steve Zehentner. Bill Coleman and Jeremy Parker ("Tha Pumpsta of Kill Whitie") work the turntables to keep the crowd grooving throughout the night.

Fresh from video projects at the Whitney Museum and Debbie Harry's induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Rob Roth and chanteuse Theo Kogan drop by to premiere the video for Theo & the Skyscrapers "Broken Girl". The "Fishbowl" is also a warm-up event for Q Me Con, the queer digital media conference at Tribeca Cinemas April 14 - 16. Revelers can get the details on Q Me Con panels, workshops and events and will have the opportunity to pre-register for this ground-breaking conference at a reduced price.

Regular performances of Fishbowl Cabaret occur on succeeding Thursdays throughout April at 8:00 and 10:30 PM featuring a rotating roster of performance collaborations. intimate seatings of 32 people. reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made by calling Monkey Town at 718-384-1369.
