We should not ask writers to be product - we have no right. To be compelled to produce creates bloated nightmare like Mailer and Anne Rice. (Sorry Chi.) Only in modern Amerika. Do you think "Sarah" proves she can abstract herself out of the subject... that she can become fictive? Seems so, compared to Heart/Deceitful. Usually (they say) novelists take a while to evolve... She has alot of living to do yet. The next works could be some sort of reflection on the Hollywood scene and celebrity. I...

This is my first time posting so Hello there everyone. I saw Party Monster last month and have been wondering why it didnt mention the facts that Michael was first a busboy at AREA then a busboy at Danceteria. His first parties were at Danceteria not Limelight. The Dirty Mouth contest was on Congo Bills' I know this for a fact because I bartended that party and would have won if Musto didnt veto it, because I was an employee or "drop your pants". MORE! MORE! MORE! The clips are incredible. If they are anything to go by I, as one who came too late to take a bite out of Jackie 60, am so excited. I remember after one of my performances at Magique Chi Chi said I had the Jackie flavour. Watching the clips now I realize the magnitude of the compliment. This movie is going to be so valuable to many walks. Now with the wonder of DV I think nightlife can be captured in a way never possible before. I listened to the clips with my headphones...

Well, I for one had a complete blast. And Daddy, your response above was a model of restraint and patience, considering it was directed at someone who clearly had no appreciation whatsoever for the huge amount of effort that was put into this night. I've been in NYC for a little over 3 years now, and have always meant to go to NOTS but every year I'd find out about it after it had happened. Not this year. The friend I went with made me put it on my calendar in November. It was *wonderful* -...

I think this party was better than some of the really good parties at Jackie60. I met so many beautiful people, hung out with My friend Morgan and the baby's breath (part of it) that adorned the microphone is hanging on my wall. I'll remember this party for a long time. Thankyou Chi Chi and Johnny for doing it right. Love, Judy

Dear Lord, what controversy! Sorry, Jenny, my dear, anything connected with drag never starts early; and that goes double for avant guard drag. In fact for us aging hipsters an early night (starting around midnight) is a blessing. Thank you Johnny and Chi Chi, and all the performers, for a wonderful night. I'm crestfallen that I missed Basil Twist while outside smoking and flirting with lovely 20-year-old boys and girls with whom, alas, I'll never sleep. There were many genuine Stevie Nicks...

Hello. Sorry you did not have a good time Jenny. Please stop saying "I can't wait!" It is quite repetitive. I loved the party. Thank you Chi Chi. The wonderful performer on the taxicab is Rainblow, otherwise known as Russell. We came following Queen Mother Flawless Sabrina's advice. Russell has been adopted by the girls at Lucky Chang. He works there Friday and Saturday. His schedule changes on the work week.

Sorry if I am getting off the subject of rug munchin', butt blowing and Jenny bashing....I just wanted to thank Chi Chi, Jonny, and Hattie for, once again, throwing another fab. NOTS! I did miss a few performances due to being back stage too much (waiting to go on...)so that, plus the club being too hot, was my only complaint . I know the Knitting Factory is a well known venue but I miss the days of the smaller, more intimate crowds and venues. Oh well....if NOTS is getting too big and too...

Chi Chi- Did you ever find a replacement charm?? It's very strange how things like that are tied together. Thank you Chi Chi and Bobby, it was my pleasure to share that. That's so true Anna. This show was so much better than those big productions of the past. It was just Bowie and his band pulling it all off song by song. Between songs he was so funny and present with everyone. He reminded me of a Rock 'n Roll Richard Dawson in his humorous manner with everyone. And yes, he does look HOT!!!! He still has such sexy moves too, such grace and style.

It was alot like the "Children's Book Face" but much more... Well, I guess "devote" would have to be the word. How the hell does she get away with this shit?

Though I liked a lot of the art at the New Museum show it was not actually about the art. As much as I liked the kooky dancing bee video for its low-budget, tres gay, faux MTV production value, Klaus Noami's video (with sound so lamentably under-amped), the Jack Smith AMAZING 1962 film -the show is about the scene and the people and not really about the art at all! Not too subtle about that either, since the whole upstairs gallery is devoted to 'class' pictures and headshots of the...

Yesterday's NYT had a fascinating story about a couple of alleged former Limelight habitues, who are putting their club-smarts to good use: PartyBuddys helps Joe and Jane Schmos bypass lines and gain instant access to VIP lounges at all of the city's top clubs -- for a fee. I am so down with the hire-a-paparazzo, too. A steal at $250/night.

When I got the picture back (pre-digital) we were stunned. It was a picture of her grave but the sky was insane. It was all purple clouds and spooky. I swear it didn't look like that in real life.
