Seven! You can always donate directly to the Queer Rising group via their web site, queerrising.org/donate no later than 12noon on Sunday, Feb. 13. Treasurer(s) are tracking those. If that's not an option, e-mail me directly. Yes, Sneed. Dangery!

Thanks Joe. I think I will just cough up the full price at the door to support the whole thing. It's an amazing line up.

Re: bibliophile
After finishing Confessions of a Shopaholic (by Sophie Kinsella) which for anybody also afflicted with this malady is a must read, though the happy ending is the only downfall. It is very much in the same genre as Helen Fieldings' Bridget Jones' Diary- first one I loved, but the second one I never finished- didn't live up to the first at all in my opinion. But right now I am tearing through Jacqueline Susann's Shadow of the Dolls (by Rae Lawrence). Taken from a draft/outline penned prior to...

Re: CLUB USA
I would be interested in an historical account of the 80s Pyramid years as well. Though I arrived in New York during August of 1988, my first couple of years clubbing were largely confined to the bigger places (Palladium, Traxx, Tunnel, Sound Factory, etc) and I didn't really "discover" the Pyramid until the Linda Simpson-Channel 69 era (early 90s). Do tell.

Re: Wigstock 2003 and post-Wigstock events
I've worked as stage manager for every Wigstock since 1989. It was great to have Wigstock back in Tompkins Square and I even liked the shorter format. Yeah okay, it's not like it used to be, but what is? We can't live in the past and shouldn't want to. And yes, maybe the afterparty at Webster Hall was lame, but the afterparty at Opaline with Sister Dimension and Linda Simpson was loads of fun! Yes, there were some assholes backstage working security. It's a problem that should be brought up...

Re: supermodels
VH1 has a special on the rise and fall of the supermodel phenomenon (which I saw but did not hear at the gym), and it was dishy- more for how Janice Dickenson looks now...she is giving Joceyln Wildenstein a run for a money with those cat eyes. Meow. The interesting thing about the show to me was how in the 90s, being a model- and only several were deemed "super" and we all know who they were- became more fabulous than being a movie or pop star, but the turnaround came in the late 90s when...

Re: Blondie
Anna the story was a laugh because if Justine had a manager with half a brain he or she would have just dunked her mop in henna and that would be the end of it. Hey, does Jessica Simpson have a contract clause that says her opening act can not ALSO have a low-talent dunce in it? Or that Homer and Marge can't show up at a gig to claim comps to get in to see their eldest daughter?
