Re: RIP, VIP
Just wanted to thank Bill Brewster for sending us this note about the passing of Francis Grasso, 52, who is generally regarded as the first modern DJ. His club The Sanctuary helped define late-sixties(!) gay disco and he pioneered the whole shamanistic tradition of DJs taking the crowd on a trip.. If you don't know Bill, he wrote the amazing "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life:The History of the Disc Jockey" which is filled with amazing stories including Francis Grasso's. Re: I lost a tiny baggie in the bathroom about three years ago...
Don't feel so bad. Back in 1996, I thought I was buying coke from the now dearly departed drug troll Angel. Turned out to be K and after me and about six other people proceeded to hoover it up we had to be escorted from the bathroom and through the crowd by Kitty because we were so fucked up. For some reason, even though I felt fucked up at the time, I still look back on that night and smile. Ah, club life!

Re: NYC Expatriates Topic
we just finished a week of covering a music festival here in beautiful warm miami, we had the best time of our lives but happy that something so magical is over now. We always miss the new york life when we are far and we especially miss the stinky meat district area where we use to walk to florent after staying out all nite at jackie 60, stay the way you are NYC we'll be back soon.

Re: I'm from normal parents (The Pyramid Club Topic)
There were DEFINATELY pictures, I remember seeing the police horses. I wasn''t at the party but I remember hearing about it and seeing the pics. We did "Come Fly With Us" at Jackie 60 in the mid '90's. It was a House of Domination night with the girls as Stewardesses. I remember asking all the Queens on several Susanne Bartsch trips to collect as many vomit bags as they could. They ended up mopping everything for us- vomit bags, emergency instruction cards, life jackets, anything that was...

Re: NYC Expatriates Topic
The thought of being a NYC expatriate has crossed my mind many times as of late. I too was at the Winter Music Conference in March in sunny Miami, and I had some of the best club experiences I have EVER had in my life. Powerhouse DJs and clubgoers from the around the world brought back many fond memories for me of the NYC club scene in the late 80s when I first moved here. In particular at Miami's Club Space and Crow Bar, I was surrounded by a glamorous, friendly, diverse, international...

You can tell I get very bored and spend hours looking for this stuff. Here's one of those anime dress-up-people. It's actually known as "cosplay" and it's very big in Japan. Sometimes it's a sexual but often it's just an escapist hobby. The text is Japanese which may just read as gibberish, but just click on the pix and you'll be fine. http://ueno.cool.ne.jp/skonishi/ Got Time? Re: Straight To Hell (Sex Stories)
This past weekend, I went up to the Adirondacks to get a brief respite from war-torn Manhattan. I took Amtrak to a small town in the foothills, then a taxi to the cottage of an old friend. I had been given the keys, so I had the whole place to myself. I had forgotten that 1) It's 20 degrees colder in the mountains this time of year, and 2) hunting season is at full throttle right about now. Well, since I neglected to bring anything red, I was not going to venture into the woods at all, so I...

Re: Straight To Hell (Sex Stories)
When I was 13, my mother and father took a day trip to Ohio to see my uncle and my brother closest to me in age was suppose to keep an eye on me while they were away. He did a really good job by getting me totally stoned. Later in the evening he had his girlfriend named Andrea come over, and they went downstairs in our family room where my brothers best friend Chris and I could hear her getting the life fucked out of her from where we were upstairs in the livingroom. Well at 13 almost...

Re: Straight To Hell (Sex Stories)
It was Thanksgiving nite 1993 and Faux Pas and I had just had a scrumptious meal at my friend Sara's place in Grammercy Park. I was full of fabulous food, fine wine, and fierce herb. What more could a single twentysomething fella want in New York City at midnite? What? Sex you say? Why yes in deed, don't mind if I do. The nite was that kind of cold that was actually refreshing from being in a pot filled apartment for several hours. The air had that healthy quality, that made you enjoy each...

Well..I have lived a long and prosperous life and I have never come across that word...Now I will be forced to go out and get a taste of some "Moronga" Thank you Sweetie. I wanted some of that Edwin Moronga for the longest time but left it alone because: 1) He was the property of my good sister Sweetie. 2) He told me I wasn't a big enough gal. That I should go put on an "extra" hundred pounds or so and maybe he might think about giving me a taste of that "Moronga". It seems it would have...

Re: Straight To Hell (Sex Stories)
my first m2m experience happened last year. My former landlord (a divorced tall 40 y/o german stud) accidently found a stack of fetish mags that I had left out one day. He was in the rental to fix the sink and I forgot. That weekend he came by and asked me not to leave my personal stuff lying around. I was so embarrrassed. He was cool though and we struck up a discussion about desires and fetishes. What I didn't realize was that he was bisexual and into kink. I was into heel worship, B/D and...

Travel sex is the best sex, don't you all think? You don't have to pretend to take someone's name and number. I went to Vegas right after high school graduation, and met up with a girlfriend. She and I decided to hit a party. When we got there, there seemed to be quite a few hard male bodies in attendance. Whaddya know? A Brazilian futbol team! I found myself in a hot-tub filled to the brim with naked, tan, AFFECTIONATE men. Now, you must understand, I do have some sort of modesty. So when...

Re: Miss Understood's Hi from Thailand
I'm writing to you from the fancy bathhouse. It's one of those places you could never leave. But I will. I'm not THAT pervy. I am being a little more pervy this year though. At home I would be wayyy too self concious to walk around in a towel. I hope Chelsea culture stays away from here forever! They do have some reverse body image issues here. They'll have perfect flat abs and then think they're too skinny! You know here, the country not just the bathhouse, they would never think of making...

Re: Miss Understood's Hi from Thailand
So the caves were shallow, no big deal. But then I went on this loooong walk up to a mountaintop shrine. It was all steps...2200 steps! It was exhausting but the view was breathtaking. There were lots of monks meandering around. I was dying to suck one off! Let me explain. Thailand is swarming with monks, usually dressed in these orange or mustard robes. Most men, sometime after high school, become a monk for a few months to a year, as a learning and spiritual experience. They are not...

Re: Miss Understood's Hi from Thailand
I took a one day Thai cooking course. They actually cover a hell of a lot in one day! I'll soon be the green curry queen of NYC! So this guy I'm dating here in Chiang Mai, Wat, the one who had the circle jerks with the monks, he's really great to hang out with. I feel like a biker chick on the back of his motorcycle! He's entering graduate school to become a teacher. He's a bartender in a very odd location. At this three level flea market type place there is a weird long hallway on the side...

This trip ran way longer than I had planned. I need to return and pick up the pieces of my life. I'm trying to enjoy all the cheap little "spa" treatments before I leave. I got a haircut; they chopped too much off. I had a 2 hour Thai massage. It was AMAZING! You know that feel of relief after taking a big dump or having a good orgasm? Well after a really good Thai massage you feel that all over your whole body. I must add that a 2 hour massage in NY would generally run you $120. Here, in a...

Re: 57 Varieties ( Club 57 Remembered)
I think around '81 Club 57 started hosting parties at Irving Plaza. A Ukrainian sponsor/host (Stanley?) would dare the punks to throw beer cans and bottles at him on stage. (They obliged.) I remember the Invaders and Regina and the Red Hots. Whatever happened to Regina Richards? Did Chris Spedding and the B-52s also play here, or was that later in the life of Irving Plaza? Wow--just zoned on Nervus Rex--what about Lauren Agnelli? Where are all the NY Rock babes of yore? cheers to my NYC...

Re: Displaced Radical Faeries
Remember too that last years may pole was forked into 2 points at the top....very eerie. It was so great to see someone experience Beltane for the first time. I know last year was just as magical for me. It truly is a recharge for me, creatively, spiritually and physically. I was told by someone last year that you get something different every year. I can see it now. This year was just as beautiful, strange, carefree, emotional, relaxing, exhausting, scary, stupid, and profound as last year...

Well, you certainly hit some legendary nights! "COKEWHORE: I'm not a cokewhore... I'm a model!" was one of my personal faves too. Sister Cody was brilliant as "Cokewhore". I saw her last night and have to say she looks great. All cleaned up and living her life as a blonde.

Re: Rice Queens - The Anne Rice topic
Most everyone who knows me knows that I am a big Anne Rice queen, so naturally the last two books I read, on vacation last month, were Merrick, the new Mayfair Witches/Vamp Chronicles edition, and then the charming Pandora, which I had missed thus far. I have nothing but admiration for this great modern writer, and if you have somehow missed her books all these years, start and you will have years of catching up to do. The Vampire Chronicles are riveting and justly famous, but for johnny and...

Re: Can We Build a Less Prejudiced TG Sense of Community?
Lemme start over as it were.. I am a man. I have lived as a "woman". I have been on hormones and have had breasts. I always had a dick ( my own I mean) I have had moments when I felt like a "woman" but I knew I was not. People have a right to believe anything they like about themselves as far as I'm concerned and anyone who doesn't like it can kiss the proverbial ass ( Jim Fouratt). However I think that many people are confused about their gender even if they are born with one particular set...

Re: Can We Build a Less Prejudiced TG Sense of Community?
When the umbrella term "transgender" started to encompass everyone on the Benjamin scale, from 1 to 6, I welcomed it. I remember how the NYC Drag Queens fought to not be included under that term at Stonewall 25, in order to have a separate marching contingent from Transgender. I was saddened by that at the time, but now have more understanding. There is really very little that an active transsexual (I make that distinction as I have encountered so many on the net that call themselves...

Re: Can We Build a Less Prejudiced TG Sense of Community?
I think so much of the discussion above really has to do more with grades of comfortability within oneself. Stacy you made a re-mark I found intresting about cross dressers only risking discrimination when they are dressed and in public. A good girlfriend of mine (str8 cross dresser) has shared with me the CONSTANT axe that hangs over her head in terms of family members and a wife finding out about this "double life" It is fear that keeps alot of these people so stuffed in there...

Re: Can We Build a Less Prejudiced TG Sense of Community?
Hi all...... I have lurked here for a bit and thought this discussion valuable and oh so interesting, time to jump in I guess. Sweetie's comments regarding comfortability within one's self seem especially important. Regardless of the range of ones feelings and behaviors I think integration into one's being is paramount in terms of ones abilties to deal with the complexities that life throws at us.

Re: Can We Build a Less Prejudiced TG Sense of Community?
All I can do is nod in agreement and say "so well stated." I think I know what you mean, Sweetie, about not having a focused point, but I think that there is one there somewhere. This is a difficult topic to really tie together for some reason. I obviously have a lot of mixed feelings about it. Perhaps it's a flaw of character on my part, but I still haven't much sympathy or patience for anyone who is scared to death to show their colors in this world. Maybe that's where support is sorely...
