Don't let the science stop you, it's about what makes you feel good ! February 16, 2011, 12:01 am Phys Ed: What Really Causes Runner’s High?
By GRETCHEN REYNOLDS
Jordan Siemens/Getty Images For decades, endorphins have hogged the credit for producing “runner’s high,” that fleeting sense of euphoria and calm that many people report experiencing after prolonged exercise. Who among us, after an especially satisfying workout, hasn’t...

Running up that Hill is a great song though, and Placebo does a more down tempo version of it. and I've been listening to Don't Give Up her song with Peter Gabriel, beautiful, like winter in Syracuse, HA! No but the song is beautiful.

Re: 2008 Presidential Elections: Who Will Lead America Next?

Lex your observations of Hill are very perspicuous. I think she is a run of the mill politician who will if elected be guided by and put in to practice policies that mostly benefit the corporations who run the federal government. There really needs to be a third party that represents the American people in a credible way. Can any Republican or Democrat change a situation where the entire US military is just a standing private army used to protect and stuff the bank accounts of the...

Re: San Francisco

"The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco." Of course you must have heard this apocryphal quote attributed to Mark Twain by now... probably a million times. I read somewhere once that SF has about forty different climates within its environs. This really hit home when I was visiting a friend up on Telegraph Hill, and it was snowing. While down on Folsom it was 75 degrees, and cactus thrive out on the Avenues. I love it! A pity you probably won't see much of the legendary...

It's 12 noon and its getting closer and closer! I'm so giddy I just come from a drive! Bad weather, heavy heavy rain, wind just starting u feel it's going to pick up hard any minute...we drove up Jacks Hills (a fancy area on the hill) but couldn't pass the roads as power lines had fallen across the roads. There are huge mansion houses up there which i total worry could slide down that mountain (if huge pilons are falling now with no wind just water what else u know). But still outside Bob...

The version of ENDA that passed is far from perfect but c'mon guys, it's a pretty big deal. This measure has been kicked around for the better part of 30 years. Any time the civil rights of anybody are boosted, it's a good thing, whether it's the rights of one person or a million people. I hear what everyone is saying ... being from the club world and knowing far more Ts and variants than the average queen or dyke will ever know, those of us on these Boards are more sensitve to their...

Re: The Vineyard Theatre's WIG OUT! With SWEETIE

Wig Out is wonderful! I was so impressed. It was like seeing something really big right before it explodes. ALL of the actors were amazing. Who the hell cast this? Everyone was perfection. And the girls... THEY CAN ALL SING -DOWN!!!!! The staging was brilliant. Very clever. The runway going into the audience, the disco balls, the dressing rooms. Everything. Perfect. Now the criticism... 1) The pre-show music is a great idea but it sucked. Malcolm McLaren's "Deep In Vogue" was playing as we...

This just in... Poor Pete Burns. The Dead Or Alive singer has been sectioned by the police for his own safety. The problems began when Pete was seen in Notting Hill trying to superglue one of his stiletto shoes to a parked car. A friend saw him and, thinking he'd been on a drink or drug binge, suggested he go home and sober up. Pete tried to go home, but he had forgotten where he lived, so broke into his neighbour's house. She came home a few hours later and heard singing and music coming...

Daddy, you asked a good one......... yes, have heard from several people, that will not be outed just now, that have had Bobby Miller sightings over the last week. as he has been out of his body lately checking on everyone, while in intensive care. can tell you that when shopping in Borem Hill last weekend, standing in the snow trying to cross Atlantic Avenue, Bobby came flying down and around, swishing (for lack of a better word) from above laughing and teasing me, saying 'Hey, I can haunt...

So happy to hear you do not have to spend the holiday in the hospital!!! I was driving about town night before last and at 11:02 (I suspect 10pm exactly EST) -- I caught an image of the moon (which is so peculiar here this time of the year, haloed in red and yellow and almost full) and thought of you. Then later (much, much) D. and I snuck out in the buff to Mom's hot tub and although unbelievably cold outide - worth the near frost bite to our nipples - spent the night looking at the stars,...

It was kind of amazing that for day after day you could just walk around the East Village and see all this legendary underground art. But legendary and underground are basically contradictory, right? Or are they? Think about it- how many of us in the underground really think of our ˜underground period' as...

Lets walk..." and they all did the "no comprendo" look where you sort of cock your head to the side and just blink I learned all about Scientology ... LA is pink satin where as NYC is...
