Join the OWS Maid Brigade for more anti-capitalist street theater! As corporate powers externalize their costs, ordinary people are forced to clean up the mess. From oil spills to bank bailouts, corporate money-making schemes have us working as round-the-clock maids picking up after criminal profiteers… NO MORE NICE On MAY DAY , we will take the streets in classic maid costumes—modified however we see fit—and spread the message that we are sick of cleaning up after capitalism and corporate...

Re: Your favorite Jackie theme?

We're dying to relive it, except that Betty Badum is no longer reliving anything. I loved her carefully counting the tiny specks of glitter with a pair of oversized joke tweezers from Gordon Novelties (still the best store in showbusiness.) It seemed to carry on for at least five minutes. Fascinating theater! And why the neck brace? Will we ever know? The "Prozac Finale" was all her idea. I remember John telling us cast members just minutes before the curtain...Truley inspired. We never...

Wow. I went to Pattaya to see the drag shows. We went to two, "Alcazar" and "Tiffany". While they were both dazzling, Tiffany, which started in the 70's, blew Alcazar out of the water! While the photos on their website look great, they don't begin to translate all the glitter and texture of the costumes, nor the kinetic grandeur of the sets... but go take a look around anyway: Tiffany Website On the "show preview" page, give it time to load and it becomes a little roll-over-the-photo...

I saw yet another glizy drag revue. This one was in Bangkok. While it was the sorry little sister of the Pattaya shows, it still took place in a huge glitzy theater and had very big cast. This was the only one that got a little raunchy, in sort of a stripper sort of way. During one number the trannies all were dancing seductively in whorey outfits with their nipples popping out. The predominantly Indian tourbus crowd was living! If ya' can't get it driving a cab in NYC, go to Bangkok! [This...

I had done alot of theater at this point and the racing that I had done was pretty good and most poeple thought that I could go along way in racing. I decided to stay in NY and continue acting. The point to this little story is that in the time that I was thinking about racing fulltime I allways had this little dream in my head about how I could go aroung the country...

I'm still spinning from the 10,000 miles I must have traveled in the last 24 hours. So I thought I would try to express some of the strange visions in my head. After driving a van for 10 hours straight, through the desert, buzzing on double shots of espresso and listening to bad radio so as not to drive off the road and into the abyss of darkness, I finally arrived in LA at 3 am. Took a plane at 3 pm and now I'm back in NYC. I'm sure Goblin will have many posts soon, but I thought I would...

I, too, have been motivated, touched, and intrigued by Wojnarowicz. In 1994 ETC Magazine, for whom I was writing back home (in Atlanta) sent me to the Toronto International Film Festival on assignment to cover what was becoming a "smorgasboard of queer cinema." I remember sitting in the theater, around 4 in the afternoon, when Postcards from America was screened. That was one of the most pivotal moments of my 20's. Like so many things from those days. It was WAY ahead of its time. People sitting on the floor watching Monster Movies like Ed Wood Clasics and bad Japanese gems. Everyone would be screaming out jokes. Of course years later it became a TV show. "Mystery Science Theater 2000" (or something like that). A very funny show by the way.
