I had always wondered why Linda refused to synch. Thank you, Vulgar, for setting the record straight. Perhaps she should have chosen another version of the song to do. Or something by Nancy. (Sinatra, not Isla, Rose.) Though I have to admit, my version of "A Time For Us", segue-ing from Barbra to Tom Waits went over a little better. Instead of stunned silence, they screamed "Get Off The Stage!"

In keeping with Dresscode's theme, Rose came attired in a skintight floor lenght sheath and the sucker was so tight she had to cross her legs to walk so after a night of serving drinks in this getup, we shared a cab. As is my wont, I waited with the cabdriver until my daughter was in the house. It had to be seen to be believed. First she couldn't get up the first step. Apparently she was OK coming down but going up was a different issue. The handbag was going in one direction, the keys in...

Hi again Kylie The first message on my machine today after my mother (who of course reprimanded me for sleeping through the day) was Lee Chapel asking if me and his friend, my Isreali roommate,Tom, were OK. I immediately thought somebody was rounding up all the gay and tranny Jews, until I got awake and rationale enough to turn on the TV. So far no one I know of personally or love, has been harmed! Rose

I have no memory what-so-ever of getting home from Cheezwhiz last night. I understand Justin Bond put me in a cab and told the driver where I lived. Today I noticed that I spent a total of 2 dollars last night. I remember one dollar went to tip Sweetie, One went to tip Bianca Leigh. (I guess I must have stiffed Rose). So the big question on my mind today is... How did I pay the cab driver? And why do I smell like samosas? I know I didn't eat at "Rose Of India" last night. We had a delicious...

My dear Miss Understood, I know there is a novel out called Trans Sister Radio. It is written by Chris A Bohjalian. It is kind of an updated Myra Breckenridge. It is about a college professor who decides to become a woman. I know someone just bought the rights to the book and a movie is in the works. Hey, I wish I knew the URL of the Trans Sister Radio station. It sounds like fun. Yowsa! Is this a put-on courtesy of Rose or does a net cross-dressing radio station really exist? If not, why...

I saw her big titted sculpture at a Whitney Annual which included more G&L artists than ever before, curated by an exceptional gay artworld celeb, Klaus Kertess, and was delightfully surprised that a trans-artist was included in the show, especially in an art climate that was and still is, although administered by art fags and women, in many ways predominantly macho,(compare prices of male artist's work with that of females-- even after women's lib!) I was anxious to see more of her work...

Hey Bobby Didn't I see a picture of you naked in a large wig, hiding your man meat and pushing your pecs togehter to form clevage? And didn't I hear an autobiographical poem you wrote boast of living full time as a woman for an extended period. So where do your frequent masculine assertions come from? Do you not consider at least part of yourself gender variant? Having been a CD or a Drag Queen or however you thought of yourself and declaring (or taking back as the case may be) your manhood,...

Sweetie - I love you - you always say the darndest things and I often find myself nodding 'uh-huh' with my mouth open. You also wouldnt be the first to wonder why 'we' cant find some common ground to stand on - at least one or two nights of the week anyway. Rose - that was a caustic little note - but I agree with the spirit, if not the letter of it - No one likes a hint of Male Privilidge - like "Liz is back in Bloomingdales" musking up the TG landscape. Speaking as a butch queen (I paint with that term more broadly than most, clearly I think there are obviously lines where we dont intersect with one another - lines that must be recognized and respected (which btw is part of the reason why the term "transgender" is of limited usefulness, except as a description of behavior). So, I for one can only imagine the magic a full-time shemale must have to conjure to get through the day! The stories Stacy tells me about her walks home or her trips on...

Hi girls, Jade, I didn't mean to be harsh, it's just that I'm an old control freak who, and as Daddy suggested get frustrated when I fear that no one is taking my input seriously. (Need that validation!) I'm very happy that you are rediscovering your activist side and will keep you posted of activities coming up. In my experience it is empowering to take actions of my own behalf. Not only does it keep me from validating my victimhood but also builds self esteem through esteemabe acts.

Wow! JoJo's work is amazing on its own and an incredible tribute to his artistic mother, as well. I believe either Gracie or Pat Hearn handled a lot of Greer's work at the time, in addition to Paul's store, Rose. I own a small ink and watercolor painting by Greer that is one of my absolute treasures. And one of her few forays into two-dimensional expression. She was a true visionary.

Finally got to see that wonderful doc depicting SF and the youth culture of that time, my time.
