Now that the adolescent Drudge Report view of the world (delusionally preoccupied with thoughts of scabies, defecation, deviant sex crimes) has been exposed irrevocably as lies, it is interesting to see Bloomberg now expose himself as being completely unmayoral. He's fine when he's chaperoneing a multi-billion dollar mega development of the west side rail yards in Chelsea or cutting massive tax breaks for his cronies on Wall Streeet. But when he has to deal with a social dilemma he outs...

Seems the wind action here on the Westside was minimal; I have seen many pics of broken trees in the EV and Tompkins Square Park. Now the issue of flooding and tidal surges remains for this neighborhood. I look out the window and see joggers. Nothing will stop them, apparently. I can also see about 3 feet of water on (the now closed?) Don Hill's roof. Not good. Somebody should have cleaned out those drains! In this area the sea wall by the river is new and sturdy. Down at BPC and over in the...

I blessblame that Miller girl for introducing us the way scar is seduced back beneath skin. A blame made of the scent of leather and pale pink roots of...

Just wanted to thank Bill Brewster for sending us this note about the passing of Francis Grasso, 52, who is generally regarded as the first modern DJ. His club The Sanctuary helped define late-sixties(!) gay disco and he pioneered the whole shamanistic tradition of DJs taking the crowd on a trip.. If you don't know Bill, he wrote the amazing "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life:The History of the Disc Jockey" which is filled with amazing stories including Francis Grasso's. Daddy held for not having ID - appalling! I'm slightly surprised that this occurred in Miami, which apart from Key West is the only section of the state I've ever given a second thought to. The rest of Florida I've always dismissed as a frightening swamp of racist rednecks, Bible Belters, Disney theme parks and Republicans. And now the whole state is damned in my mind for the next 3 1/2 years for handing the presidency to George W. Bush. But Miami, with its heavy hispanic, black and gay...

I have no memory what-so-ever of getting home from Cheezwhiz last night. I understand Justin Bond put me in a cab and told the driver where I lived. Today I noticed that I spent a total of 2 dollars last night. I remember one dollar went to tip Sweetie, One went to tip Bianca Leigh. (I guess I must have stiffed Rose). So the big question on my mind today is... How did I pay the cab driver? And why do I smell like samosas? I know I didn't eat at "Rose Of India" last night. We had a delicious...

This past weekend, I went up to the Adirondacks to get a brief respite from war-torn Manhattan. I took Amtrak to a small town in the foothills, then a taxi to the cottage of an old friend. I had been given the keys, so I had the whole place to myself. I had forgotten that 1) It's 20 degrees colder in the mountains this time of year, and 2) hunting season is at full throttle right about now. Well, since I neglected to bring anything red, I was not going to venture into the woods at all, so I...

You will gag Minerva but I was there when that picture was taken. It was at the Victoria's Secret fashion show. I was DJing. Before the show I went out into the lobby to call my wife. I looked next to me and at the very next phone was a 3 1/2 foot Gary Coleman in a blonde wig! I was trying to tell Chi Chi quietly, "You won't believe this..." Even better than the wig though were the shoes. They were these really ugly old lady pumps with about a 2 inch heel. The best thing was that they were...

It was Thanksgiving nite 1993 and Faux Pas and I had just had a scrumptious meal at my friend Sara's place in Grammercy Park. I was full of fabulous food, fine wine, and fierce herb. What more could a single twentysomething fella want in New York City at midnite? What? Sex you say? Why yes in deed, don't mind if I do. The nite was that kind of cold that was actually refreshing from being in a pot filled apartment for several hours. The air had that healthy quality, that made you enjoy each...

The food here is amazing. There are many levels, but even the cheapest stuff you get on a streetcorner amazing. See, everything's cheap for what it is. If you eat in a cute cozy place that has an atmosphere, you can get a great meal, and I mean with seafood and all, from $3-$5. If you want to go for luxury, which I really don't do, You can pay up to like $20, I guess maybe even more, and eat in some palatial gourmet restaurant that would cost $100 back home. But on a streetcorner, well,...

It probably went a lot like that... We were thinking "small budget" and $5 million didn't really belong in the same sentence either. Of course we've never produced a movie so... Hattie we are very much lookig forward to meeting you too On the topic of too many bodies, we had a similar incident here. A police officer fell off of a bridge into the Ohio River, they searched for his body, and never found it. Instead they found three other bodies, all women. This disturbed a lot of people.

No Daddy, it would be something like this: World Of Wonder: $.5 million + % of profit Macauley: $.5 million Everything else: $1 million The corporate octopus involved: $3 million + % of profit of film, 100% on lunchpails & other film- related merchandise. And you would think that after $5 million came in that WOW would begin to go into percentage and see some more money, right? Wrong. The "break-even point" on a film like this could be as much as $10 million, after the corporate entity...

You bring up some interesting points about transharassment by males. They are usually the most vocal and sometimes violent. And that's the irony!... Discrimination is usually spawned by fear. People who discriminate usually feel threatened in some kind of way and it can sometimes cause them to act out. In our case men think that we challenge their sexuality, if for only a second they think we're real or are attracted to us sexually. The reality is that if the're attracted to women and we...
