"Party Monster" seems to hold promise as an interesting film. As someone who witnessed the rise and fall of the club kid movement, I'm very curious to see how they treat the subject matter - how realistic or how white washed? Also given that it's from the same company that brought us Poison, Hedwig & the Angry Inch and Velvet Goldmine, I'm sure it will be dazzling on some level. It's worth seeing for me just because Wilson Cruz (Ricky Vasquez on My So-Called Life - - one of my favorite...

Truely a celebration of all things Page. The slide show, Josef Astor's words, Page's mother's references to her as "my little girl," and Antony's version of "In My Little Cubicle" moved me enormously. Of course it is always a treat to see Linda Simpson in full drag in the afternoon. She did a great job in organizing the memorial. It struck me that most transsexuals strive for anonymity, and normality (and who can blame them), but Page was cut from a different cloth. She was, in her own...

A message to all the New Yorkers working hard to resurrect live perfromance, Vaudeville, and Burlesque: it is alive and thriving here in the Viet Nam! I went to a club the other night. It was like some of the ones in Bangkok, it looks like a disco but people sit at cocktail tables and watch a show. We entered as a sexy girl pop singer was finishing her set. The next act was a slapstick comedy team that looked like they just stepped out of 1935. One guy was like a hobo W.C. Field. Every time...

Congratulations to everyone who sent up Arcadia. The living imagery was very steep and celebratory. A despicable election year trick, intended to drive a wedge between the queer community and our hetero neighbors. While depressing, this article is highly informative and I love the quoted reactions from DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe, the ACLU and others. And though the Democratic presidential candidates are not THAT much better, at least they are against a constitutional amendment and Kerry can boast that he voted against the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996.

IMHO the youth of today have no manners or respect for the struggle of the gay generations before them. It seems to be all about their own self interests and materialism ( thanks Madonna for being such a shining example) and their youth obsessed behavior is a testiment to the shallow way that they treat any of their elders. But I doubt if that's new to our society. The value placed on money, fame and beauty overshadow any hopes for real depth. Of course this is a generalization but the basic...

Be it gay, straight, bisexual or transgendered we need to be showing love and tolerence and patience towards all.
