Well hello there, and welcome back to my ongoing travel blog. When we last caught up I was leaving Barcelona to return home to NYC after 3 months of living a "broad". Now it seems I have found myself back in the hairy arms of my beloved Barcelona for another 3 month stint. Perhaps this time I will actually learn spanish, maybe I'll finally figure out how to work Ableton Live, or at long last I will get a spanish boyfriend...without exchanging currency.

I landed on Wednesday and have been crashing at my friend Reuben's pad in Exaimple, a limp-wristed stone's throw from my old place here on Balmes. This time around I had to wait to secure an apt here till I arrived because well I's broke. Now that the cookie jar has some crumbs I have put down my deposit and move into my new fist (code=apartment) Monday. It is cuter than hell, in a newly renovated building and even has a pool and gym on the roof. AND it is only slightly more money than my little pied a terre in the East Village. Obviously there is a drawback and it is that the building is in East Shitsville. But luckily the metro is pretty fierce and if I wanna cab it the center of town is only 10 mins away. Hopefully this is a minor drawback, we shall see.

Last night I played a club in Madrid called Low that I had done previously in Feb. Back then it was a packed sweaty mess however rigth now is festival season here so there were about 10 festivals this weekend drawing the kids out of the clubs. I thought I'd be spinning for the staff, but as it turned out some kids couldn't afford the festival ticket prices and we had a good house. I'll post more when I can put up some pics but just wanted to get the blog rolling. Bienvenido!

Daddy: I can't wait to see what shenanigans and misadventures my DJ daughter will get into this time around! If you want to read part One of Sammy Jo's blog Click Here.

Just a quickie post. Things going well here in BCN as I've finally got my new place all homo-y after a trip to IKEA. (Make it GAY Rene!) Wednesday night I ended up going to a foam party here. Yes...a FOAM party. MOI! It was hysterical and sooo much fun. Literally the foam was as high as your armpits. Lots of gropey gropey moments but luckily no one's got a camera at a foam party. BAH! Today I'm off to Porto so will report back tomorrow, with pics. Cheers!
Ok so last week, as I said, I spent getting my apt in order. And this past weekend it was back to work. Friday I went to Aviero in Portugal which is about an hour outside Porto. I played there last summer at the same club called Estacao da Luz which just celebrated it's 21st Anniversary! Of course I was playing the night before the anniversary so it was not nearly as packed as usual but it went ok. I wasn't particularly happy with my set as I felt I was chasing the records. As Daddy may have explained in my last blog, sometimes the records play themselves (on a great night) and sometimes you feel like you are chasing the music trying to find your rhythm. Regardless, the promoter, a great guy named JP, seemed happy with the night so hopefully it means I'll still get asked back.

Saturday I returned to BCN to play at Razz determined to reclaim my confidence. It being July at Razz the room I djed in was stiflingly hot. Nevertheless the people danced like mad and it was a fab night. Lots of the boys came out to support me. But since Razz has a strict "No Shirts Off" policy they had to settle for this look...

The next day I woke up to a most terrifying thing. Did I mention that the week before a bunch of us went to a foam party? Well, it turns out that a common effect of the foam party is that a few days later your skin peels...everywhere. I mean EVERYWHERE. Not to worry I'm not posting pics of that. But as a warning to all of you potential foam partiers prior to going apply a generous amount of baby oil to areas where you'd rather not see the kind of shedding common to a rattlesnake. Ok, maybe garden snake? BAH!

As I was saying the next day I woke up in the afternoon and by 7:30 headed to the beach to meet up with the gurls. Every sunday at the gay beach is like a huge party that starts in the afternoon and goes till about 1am. Hoards of faggots crowd the cafe at Marbella Beach and dance to sometimes hideous/sometimes fierce music. This night the beach was lilttered with people promoting next weekend's festival Love Ball which I get to play at. SO I decided to grab a cheesy photo op...

So I'm finally coming out of the haze from the past week. Love Ball was really amazing and was very "loved" up. But I'll back it up a sec to last Wed. My friend Riccardo arrived from London (he's Italian but lives in Uk now). I'll just say that he lives a very chaste life with his husband in Essex but when he goes on holiday the bitch likes to cut loose. Friday night our friend Dj Mily deMori was spinning at Razz so we went by to support her and had a fantastic time dancing in the sweatbox that is the Rex Room.

Riccardo and Milly...

Then Saturday I hosted my first pre-party at my new place before we all went to the main party for Love Ball in this huge basketball court-sized venue on the outskirts of town. It was a huge fun mess which of course I forgot to bring my camera to but am getting pics from Jakob so will post asap.

Here's a couple from my pre-party...

That was actually taken at this queen's pre-party that was this amazing penthouse apt by the beach with a rooftop terrace with bar and dj booth where I spun a little pre-set just to warm up for the evening. Next we went on to the venue which was pretty fucking killer. It was 2 pools- one which was full and about thigh deep and the other which they emptied out and tented to make it the dancefloor. So the booth was on risers above the pool while everyone danced inside. So sick. The turnout was...good, not great. But fortunately everyone stayed till the bitter end dancing, swimming, gettin dirty. At one point there was a straight couple fucking in the pool which made all the homos gag. Hilarious! my set went down pretty well. I had to really gay it up a bit while still doing my electro thang. I'll post pics from that part of the evening soon as I can. Now I'm recovered from that and this weekend is the Circuit Festival. Friday the party is at a water park. I don't know what the hell has happened to me but somehow I am now a circuit queen. Well sort of. I don't look like one but I'm going to all the parties. It's kinda fun though to be a spy in the house of G.

Hurry up and post a pic of the straight couple having sex in the pool!
That's all we care about.

Pickles, you look so hot in that sailor suit.
You should grow a mustache like that.

On Sunday I'm spinning on a boat for "The Dooch's Birthday".
Now I know what to wear.

That beach is too much!
I feel like I got an STD just looking at it.
Be careful!

I'm a little confused by the whole "Love Ball" thing.
Do they have them in every city now?

Give Milly a big kiss for me, tell Riccardo I said to stay out of trouble and tell Keyan that that tattoo is really working for him and he should seriously think about getting it.

I still haven't heard from "the Sausage" but I'll keep trying.

Have fun and remember, don't hang out with people prettier than you.
Ok then, I've made it through another weekend of extreme gaiety. This weekend was the end of the Matinee Group's CIRCUIT festival so they went out with guns blazing. Friday was an all day water park party. They literally closed down the park to anyone but the gays (I think for fear of upsetting the children). Whatever, more room for us. None of us knew what to expect as no one in my posse had been to the park before. I thought it was gonna be a couple slides and a wave pool but we arrived at this enormous park with countless slides, a boys area and a girls area, an enormous stage and soundsystem, and not nearly enough lockers for the queens. Good thing we rocked up there early. Oh and a couple familiar faces popped into town, Dario and Nick LaWoman (Van Bremin)...

When we first arrived it was great because there were no lines for the slides so we just ran around like 8 year-olds hopped up on candy and soda....just slightly different. Towards the afternoon they brought out the dj's and go go dancers on the stage which was set up right in front of the wave pool so everyone was dancing in the pool. As the music would go to a frenzied crescendo the entire pool would start splashing. It was so retarded but so damn fun you had to just join in. This is what it looked like standing in the pool with your back to the stage...
