A Personal Message from Father Jose X.
30 years of The House of Xtravaganza and so many amazing memories, particularly of Mother Angie – including one that is very special to me. I remember The Love Ball II in 1991, a star-studded AIDS benefit, and Mother Angie was in attendance and looking amazing. I was there with Madonna and I brought Angie over to sit at our table. I knew Angie was a bit star struck but of course she never let it show; I knew she had her “Xtravaganza front” on. After being introduced Madonna leaned into Angie and said, “Your boys are amazing!” Angie being the proud mother answered ever so graciously, “Thank you – aren’t they!” It was and is still one of the proudest moments of my life. I was just as proud to be your son that night all those years ago, as I am today to be here to celebrate you Mother Angie.
To the Xtravaganza gods & goddesses who are no longer here on earth with us, this evening your powerful presence is felt. Tonight I, Father Jose Xtravaganza full of loyalty and pride for this House, humbly bow and kneel before all the Xtravagant gods & goddesses. I ask you to join us in this celebration – our celebration of 30 years serving. 30 years of this iconic family that you, Mother Angie, and our brothers and sisters created so long ago.
On this night, myself and all those who still miss and honor you, invite you to celebrate this legendary legacy that you have engraved upon us – a legacy that you made me and each member of this House willingly vow, “Thou shall not ever let this die!”
