Last night I dreamed I was back at Mars. Housed in a giant building with multiple floors that I heard was once a warehouse, Mars had no fantastic ambiance or decor to look at. The music was good, but not of a quality that stands out in my mind. It was located in the heart of the meatpacking district when that section of town still stank from all the meat and the trannie hookers ruled the West Side Highway.

But one thing I do remember the most: the roof. They opened to the customers, and I'm sure it was illegal. But it was nice to escape the heat inside and relax up there. I used to sit and gaze at the moon, chill with a cocktail and gaze into the night mist. Most times you had a clear, unobstructed view of the city's best buildings, including the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building and .....
the World Trade Center.

rest in peace
