I wasn't sure where to put this but I really wanted to share.

My friend Angel (some of you know him) told me this story last night.

He said that he was in Jackson Heights yesterday and saw these two guys meeting on the street.
This was their conversation:

"Yo nigga wass up"?
"Yo man, you can't be sayin' that word no more".
"Why not? What word do I say now"?
"Mister president".

He said he almost died laughing.
"Mister president"!!!

Brilliant.
Already famous throughout Europe, this international bestseller plumbs recently opened archives in the former Soviet bloc to reveal the actual, practical accomplishments of Communism around the world: terror, torture, famine, mass deportations, and massacres. Astonishing in the sheer detail it amasses, the book is the first comprehensive attempt to catalogue and analyze the crimes of Communism over seventy years. Black Book of Communism
the House is voting on the Health Care reform bill today. This is truly historic. While not perfect, if the House version makes it into law it could save millions of lives over time, relieve the crushing anxiety so many people feel about being able to get medical care and allow our nation to join the rest of the advanced nations that guarantee health care to their citizens.
Here's my healthcare story:
Last time I was in the emergency room at a major hospital in the city, they wanted me to give them a 'stool sample'. So I did. They never came to a diagnosis about what was attacking my digestive system even though they kept me in the hospital for 8 hours doing every test including an MRI which they billed at $3,500 ! When I left they told me to call back the next day to find out the results of their test on my stool sample.
When I called I was put on hold for about ten minutes. And then the doctor told me,

"I'm sorry but we lost your shit."
Just to make it official, I am neither a Republican or a Democrat. I am a member of the somewhat moribund but still respectful New York Conservative Party.

My point here being, there are political parties and there are philosophies. The two are not analogous by any means. The Republican Party failed when they tried to win votes by becoming more like (here you put Democrats, or, Progressive Liberals), in a failed attempt to win more votes, (market share).

The reason the people voted for Republicans was because they REPRESENTED those people with CONSERVATIVE philosophies.

Well, George Bush mucked that one up big time.

So the Republicans got their walking papers.

That's all for now folks. I hope you had a LOVELY CHRISTMAS and I wish you all a HAPPY and PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!!

P.S. Next installment is: What is the difference between Classical and Progressive Liberalism? You can start sounding off now if you like, I'm done for the evening...
I love New York and I'm happy to pay my fair share in taxes. New York outlawed child labor years before the south. You cannot fire someone for being gay in NY, you can in the south. Sodomy was still a criminal offense in much of the south until the supreme court decision of 2003, NY legalized gay sex in the 1970's. In NY a childless adult is eligible for medicaid. In most of the south, you're shit out of luck. (thankfully the new health care law will change this, saving hundreds of thousands of lives over time) New York has abolished the death penalty and has a lower murder rate than Texas for example. NY allows women complete reproductive freedom while the south (most other states for that matter) put restrictions on that right. But that's federalism and it's good in the respect that it let's the people of each state choose the policies that reflect their values. NY is not perfect, we have an crazy gerrymandered legislature that both R's and D's can be blamed for but I'm happy to call this place home.
There is such a high degree of social tollerance in NYC anywhere else you go in this country seems like a kind of reform school.
The U.S. is now the only nation on the entire planet where a sizeable portion of the population still denies there is global warming.
The U.S. is also the only nation on the entire planet with a sizeable population that does not believe in Evolution. Those retarditaire populations thankfully are not residents of the neighborhood I live in. I wasn't born in NYC so I do easily find its exaggerations and distortions laughable but just being my 'normal' ol self most anywhere else would get me viewed as being a kind of satanic freak. Plus, where else am I gonna find fresh kola nuts a few days off the vine from Ile Ife? Or an Alufa who wants to teach me some sacred insights from the Dinlogun? Everyone should be fortunate enough to find a place to live that accommodates thier outlook on life. But what has happened to American Liberty in the past ten years has reduced tollerance and acceptance to a low not seen since before Civil Rights and McCarthy. Now there are so many Americans who want to push thier views on everyone else and are proud of their backwardness.

descendit ad ínferos, tertia die resurrexit a mortuis,
ascendit ad caelos, sedet ad dexteram Patris omnipotentis,
inde venturus est iudicare vivos et mortuos.
Credo in Spiritum Sanctum,
sanctam Ecclesiam catholicam, sanctorum communionem,
remissionem peccatorum,
carnis resurrectionem,
vitam aeternam.
Amen.
Oh, like I'm having right now, after replacing all my water filters. It's a six month cycle and it's so GREEN but I really don't care. Long as as I don't have to shlep to the bodega for a Poland Spring, if you know what I mean...

Now, as an aside, do all you queens think you'll be happy doing your makeup by those awful florescent ghastly green bulbs? That's your bitch in office taking your lighting away....
