Either they will settle, or they will win, because I saw the pics Madonna Accused of Picture Piracy and they are almost EXACT replicas of his work... Interesting, because when I saw the video in Berlin for the first time, and snarkily remarked to Sherry & Eve while we watched that this didn't seem new and just seemed a redux (of something but none of us could pinpoint it exactly). Well, her "inspiration" is clear now...

I wish I could've at least seen Chrysis in person. She was the first tg person I ever came across, in a book. What an inspiration. So excited I had to show my parents. they flipped seeing my interests for the first time.(I was 16) But wow, only saw her in Q&A, and that Van Halen video. Both probably gave little chance to show the real her. Happy Holidays.

The video was for their version of "Pretty Woman". It was briefly shown on MTV in its early days (1982?). It was degrading to women, and to Chrysis, who at the end had a wig pulled off her head as shock value, plus she was tied up on I think a swing. Probably tame considering what are shown in videos now.. Never seen it listed anywhere to view again. It was unforgettable none the less because she was so beautiful.

I will refrain from commenting on Alig because I think others have done a pretty good job of this for me. The "Shockumentary" by far, is a very valuble documentary to have in any collection. The Hasidic show was one of the strangest, image-wise. It is truly wonderful that the movie will document the Jackie energy. I only wish the filming would have taken place over more than the one year period because as whack as that 1999 was so much of the initial years' energy really was busting with total liberation zone antics. Even the stills that are posted from the last year though have that amazing Berlin Dada meets the collective Id vibe that even by 1999 still showed something way...

Oh Jenny... Sorry you and your Mom had such a bad time. Obviously this night is not for you. In "The Big City" Jenny, people go out a little bit later. Actually, a show that starts at 10:15 in a nightclub is pretty early. Also, in New York we don't take things as literally as you do in Danbury. We can watch a video without the sound for instance. The video is atmospheric, you're not supposed to stand in front of the screen and watch it all night like "Friends". It's decor. And we didn't put...

I would love not to know any of this is happening. It would make me feel less cynical about humanity. But the media being what it is, and video-cameras being joyfully used to film criminal activity, I think we have no choice but to recognize atrocities are an everyday occurence. And perhaps with the looking, we have a responsibility to look at ALL of it and cry out against it. No, Christopher, voter disenfranchisement in this country only applies to convicted felons, and it differs from state to state. Some states even allow prisoners doing time for felonies to vote from jail. Like Maine.
