Seems the wind action here on the Westside was minimal; I have seen many pics of broken trees in the EV and Tompkins Square Park. Now the issue of flooding and tidal surges remains for this neighborhood. I look out the window and see joggers. Nothing will stop them, apparently. I can also see about 3 feet of water on (the now closed?) Don Hill's roof. Not good. Somebody should have cleaned out those drains! In this area the sea wall by the river is new and sturdy. Down at BPC and over in the...

my first m2m experience happened last year. My former landlord (a divorced tall 40 y/o german stud) accidently found a stack of fetish mags that I had left out one day. He was in the rental to fix the sink and I forgot. That weekend he came by and asked me not to leave my personal stuff lying around. I was so embarrrassed. He was cool though and we struck up a discussion about desires and fetishes. What I didn't realize was that he was bisexual and into kink. I was into heel worship, B/D and...

Re: 57 Varieties ( Club 57 Remembered)

I think around '81 Club 57 started hosting parties at Irving Plaza. A Ukrainian sponsor/host (Stanley?) would dare the punks to throw beer cans and bottles at him on stage. (They obliged.) I remember the Invaders and Regina and the Red Hots. Whatever happened to Regina Richards? Did Chris Spedding and the B-52s also play here, or was that later in the life of Irving Plaza? Wow--just zoned on Nervus Rex--what about Lauren Agnelli? Where are all the NY Rock babes of yore? cheers to my NYC...

Stacey made some interesting observations about crossdressers. Most of the crossdressers I have encountered are men who, by day, rigidly comply with their ""male role." I think that they fetishize their "female' side because to them it is forbidden. I guess, living in my little "bohemian" bubble just places me outside of that. I have no fear of wearing bright colors, giggling, gossiping, or discussing personal issues when I'm not in drag. I don't really acknowledge a "masculine" and a...

Re: David Wojnarowicz - Artist

In such a short span David W. did more for breakthrough art and Aids politics than most of us could hope for in a lifetime. One of the few art shows I've ever attended and gone away intoxicated with the creativity of the work. There's not much more astounding then seeing work you may have dreamt of or intended to create and then brought to reality by a fanatic obsessed. My initial reaction was, damn he beat me to it and then realized, oh great, now I don't have to do it because much of it...

I hope you like the Jackie 60 Fashion Forward shwag, I apologize for the interruption in your stage performance last night (that was not my doing, ahem, Daddy - I much prefer being on the dance floor!) ------------- As I continue to delve into NYC in the 80s, I find more and more information about DWs work and the artists he collaborated with. Using Hudson St and 6th Avenue for a reference point, an explanation of the airspace and altitude restrictions: The airspace over that portion of Manhattan is what is called Class Bravo, formerly know as a Terminal Control Area (TCA). It extends from the surface to 7,000 feet. Within this airspace all aircraft are under positive control of ATC (Air Traffic Control). I don't know the minimum vectoring altitude (the lowest altitude a controller can assign an aircraft when directly assigning...

They say one can't live on love alone but once again "they" are wrong! Many thoughts have been swooshing around my cranium since Thanksgiving night when I returned home after a lovely dinner at dear friends house to find I didn't really have an apartment left. The place was trashed (most likely electrical fire, no report yet) and my dear feline companion of nine years, Mr. Peebles, was dead. Since I lived alone I practically considered Mr. Peebles my hairy husband. If he was a person he...

OK, enough! I must insist that everybody stop loving Clubbed to Death right now. I mean it. And I pray I haven't posted too late to prevent it taking the honors. Frankly, as a nightlife expression it's been clubbed to death itself. For years. Trust me. However, I rather liked B. Domination's Club Salad, solely for its whimsy. And in that vein, I'd like to suggest Club Melt, because a little cheese always adds flava to the dish, no? No, but really, Trigger's Club Chronicles is very...

A message to all the New Yorkers working hard to resurrect live perfromance, Vaudeville, and Burlesque: it is alive and thriving here in the Viet Nam! I went to a club the other night. It was like some of the ones in Bangkok, it looks like a disco but people sit at cocktail tables and watch a show. We entered as a sexy girl pop singer was finishing her set. The next act was a slapstick comedy team that looked like they just stepped out of 1935. One guy was like a hobo W.C. Field. Every time...

I did some work for about a month for Woolco foods once around '91. They are purveyors -sell provisions to Manhattan's restaurants from the five star to the falafel joints. Met one of the co-owners because we took care of his one-eyed, thirteen-year-old doberman once a month from Friday night to Sunday morning. He paid us $800 cash for that.
