You know, one of the first conversations I had with Rose, maybe about four years ago, was about whether or not I could come in to Mother early one night just to interview her. She seemed to me to have stories untold of amazing interest (however since there was no place to publish such tales) I did not pursue the...

Yes, that was me working the door for Nina Hagen (Top hat/diamonds aka rhinestones/plaid kilt) and I clearly remember you making your grand "green" entrance! You asked me about the guest list or something... Oh and later you came out and we talked about how crowded it was and the "heat factor" inside... did you catch Patrick McMullen when you came back out? YES of course the offer still stands, when ever you're ready. All I ask is that we do it some time after Dec.19th... I'm soooo crazed...

I think the best etiology the moderns (after 1920) can muster on this issue is: a lack of breast-feeding and caressing at the infantile stage between 6 months and a year. In that scenario the mother stopped breast-feeding before the infant was 'done,' or the infant's connexion with her is in some other way interrupted. This makes the child what they call 'orally aggressive,' which then evolves into the sadomasochistic faculty if you will. If this is so, there is not much you can do to...

After the book ended with a big boring splat of existential vacuity (Sartre did that nausea so much more poetically), I decided to see the film again as it did seduce me into reading the book. Now the movie does extract the best lines from the book... there is no doubt observing those 80s-style fatuous yuppies ruling the universe is weirdly exciting. It's a ruling class, after all, and sadistically joyous. He details them very well. Christian Bale is a great cast and when he cracks up and...

A despicable election year trick, intended to drive a wedge between the queer community and our hetero neighbors. While depressing, this article is highly informative and I love the quoted reactions from DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe, the ACLU and others. And though the Democratic presidential candidates are not THAT much better, at least they are against a constitutional amendment and Kerry can boast that he voted against the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996.

What we know so far about the circumstances around his death. He was at Burning Man, which he looks forward to all year. He fell and hit his head, thought he was okay, then a few hours later went into a seizure and died. This is being looked into by the Reno police. I was just talking with Paula, the Swedish Housewife, about the logistics of that, a dead body at Burning Man. We agreed that Adam would want to go in The Burn at the climax.

What a great guy and a terrible shock. I just saw him at Motherfucker recently and he was as warm as ever though I hadnt seen him in years. I remember his party at Jackie 60 for a gay clone parody record he did - it was very funny and so was his show. One night we had a Jack Daniels drinking contest and for 2 little guys we really put it away. Condolences to his extended family here and to his blood family wherever they may be.

Other than through his glorious talents and that those who care for this gem of a man are certainly a reflection of his beauty, it is through these Boards and a few nights out over the years that I know him. Thus we have a premature darkening of a wondrous light in this city. My heart goes out to all of Adam's family and friends, may he rest in peace.

Stinger, Thank you for remembering that! The night was called "Up All Night, Can't Make The Gym" (named after one of Adam's records). It was Adam's reaction to the shirtless gay drug addicted clones from Chelsea. The stage set was the David Barton Gym locker room. There even was (if I say so myself) a genius method go go performance by David Barton and I. Adam performed "Up All Night". It was such a fun night. Luckily it was captured for the Jackie 60 Movie. He was a brilliant, intelligent man-- a great DJ and musician, a wonderful writer, a perennial wit and he truely had a heart of gold. He would pop up in the oddest of places and at the most diverse parties and had the sharpest of minds--nothing escaped his notice. I always enjoyed any few minutes of...

"Peech Boys!" "Sharon Redd!" "Change!" , "Was Not Was!" ... it was a riot... and amused us both no end...... Am sure he's playing that very same 'game' with Larry Levan at this very moment! He meant a lot to many of us in NY and around the world, from his editing of TONY club pages, his parties and most of all his unique personality.
