Are you sure? I was in that same bathroom on Saturday night and found it on the floor, to the left of the bowl. Thanks, it really helped keep the party going!

Re: BURNING MAN
burning man is fabulous. it can renew my faith in humanity. and as a "ritual junkie" i'm so into the neo-pagan/cyber-shamanic aspect of the whole effigy burning in the desert thang. (not to mention the mind-expanding psychedelics!!) i love looking out over "the playa" and fantasizing about a colony on the moon that would be just like Black Rock City. THOUSANDS of people all co-existing, all giving one another the freedom to create and live in their own realities, and LOTS OF ART!! it blows...

Re: Your favorite Jackie theme?
That was you??? I remember that show, it was genius! "Black like Jackie" was good as was "Fidler In The Hood" but I think we really perfected Blackness in '99 with "Uncle Charlie's Cabin". Truly one of my faves. It was so over the top! It's really hard to shock people today, especially at one of our events but... black total top masters and their white pussy boy slaves in cages and all set in the pre-civil war South had people's jaws on the floor! I remember black stud Joseph all dressed...

I missed that! You know I am practically on the floor laughing as I read your description of it! Those plantation scenarios! You know I have a gay male Jewish friend who's totally NOT involved in the club world and he LIVES for black and latino studs, she even bought a brownstone in HARLEM. I try to explain sometimes to him all the Jackie themes and gatherings and why I love it so much, but he's kind of uncreative and doesn't really get it. But WAIT until I tell him all you've just told me!

Re: Sex With Taxi Drivers part 2
In keeping with Dresscode's theme, Rose came attired in a skintight floor lenght sheath and the sucker was so tight she had to cross her legs to walk so after a night of serving drinks in this getup, we shared a cab. As is my wont, I waited with the cabdriver until my daughter was in the house. It had to be seen to be believed. First she couldn't get up the first step. Apparently she was OK coming down but going up was a different issue. The handbag was going in one direction, the keys in...

Have you ever noticed how bad travel articles in magazines an newspapers are? They are all formatted around overpriced packages. Even here, if you pick up a free (advertiser funded) tourist guide or map, it is full of listings for things that are absurdly overpriced for what things cost here. This place is so gorgeous that there's not much more the pricey places can offer you. You don't need a pool with a crystal clear ocean in front of you! A simple, lovely, Gilliganesque bungalow is about...

I took a one day Thai cooking course. They actually cover a hell of a lot in one day! I'll soon be the green curry queen of NYC! So this guy I'm dating here in Chiang Mai, Wat, the one who had the circle jerks with the monks, he's really great to hang out with. I feel like a biker chick on the back of his motorcycle! He's entering graduate school to become a teacher. He's a bartender in a very odd location. At this three level flea market type place there is a weird long hallway on the side...

You're lucky. Jewelry is sooo much easier to ship! So we went to this straight club called "Hollywood." It's set up like a NY dance club, a big room w/a stage, lots of lighting, and very loud techno. The difference: the room, even the would-be dance floor, is filled with cocktail tables. You either sit or stand at your table. Maybe 15% of the crowd will dance next to their table. Most people tend to get a bottle and mixers. We do that every night we go out drinking here. It's dirt cheap,...

I am sorry this post is a long and scattered but since it is fresh in my mind everything came out all at once. My tenses are screwey, and my spelling is a bit off, so patience please... Hey Mom, You would have loved it all! I am by no means a camper, and I dealt with it just fine. I was afraid it would be 200 homos huddled around a habachi (sp?) cooking an eggplant, but they have the system DOWN! Meals are regular 3 times a day. Remember too that last years may pole was forked into 2 points at the top....very eerie. It was so great to see someone experience Beltane for the first time. I know last year was just as magical for me. It truly is a recharge for me, creatively, spiritually and physically. I was told by someone last year that you get something different every year. I can see it now. This year was just as beautiful, strange, carefree, emotional, relaxing, exhausting, scary, stupid, and profound as last year...

Re: Can We Build a Less Prejudiced TG Sense of Community?
I never said activists never get anything done. Even if I thought that, why would I say that to you? What I said was I had been reading your NYAGRA pages and, because of all the drama and shakeups, was surprised anything got done at all. What pissed you off I think was that I said a lot of those girls in some of those meetings need to get a life - unfortunately we were standing on the dance floor at Don Hills - so I could not elaborate. I was speaking about my own experiences with others at...

For so many years I was closeted to the point that I was losing my sanity, I was virtually scared to death to go out in drag. The first time I went out it was to Click and Drag at Fun, and I was a mess, I was so scared I couldn't even hold my drink and it spilled on the floor breaking the glass, but by the end of the evening I was having a wonderful time and the barrier I had for so long battled to overcome was over. After that Click and Drag closed. The second time I went out to the...

This guy's incredible, my new hero. Daddy, you should invite him to NYC, get him to run for mayor. He can drive his trailer over from New Zealand. What is it about New Zealanders, anyway? They're all totally bonkers. When I used to bounce at this big sports bar in Chicago, we knew whenever we carded on a New Zealand passport that there'd be a fight that night. Every single time. Of course, later, when bouncing at the gay bar up the road, every night a New Zealander came in we knew we'd find...

History Wrestles Commerce in Meatpacking District By DENNY LEE (NYT, 8/11/02) The three-year drive to confer landmark status on the meatpacking district is taking on a new urgency. What began as a low-key investigation of warehouses and blood-soaked Belgian blocks has quickened this summer into a race that pits preservationists against developers. "We're hitting a critical juncture," said Andrew Berman, executive director of the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation. "Several...

A bit of explanation... Mark Twain is said to have once wrote: "When the end of the world comes, I want to be in Cincinnati because it's always 20 years behind the times." This still holds true. We were asked to host a night at a local gay club here in Cincinnati about a year after Zazoo was "born." we agreed, but only on our terms... What did this mean? Well... 1. Good music. 2. No crappy Drag Queens badly lipsyching to 3 year-old songs. 3. "Freaks" got in free They reluctantly agreed to...

You know, one of the first conversations I had with Rose, maybe about four years ago, was about whether or not I could come in to Mother early one night just to interview her. After much pulling my hair, groaning, talking very loudly and repetitively to myself and pacing about the living room, I got through it. But what I realized is that YOU TWO twats were the ones to go into shock and hustle with tons of bustle off the floor when my audio came on!

No! A dancefloor is everybody's always!!! And I did love watching it--you two running off!! You couldn't pay people to look so jarred!! And the faux pas is mine. The theory was to make an interactive imprmptu video. The problem (well technically there were several glitches) but the biggest being -- the music is not yet appropriate for the dance floor, perhaps even to ears. If it was, people wouldn't have been so confused. But I got through it and had to laugh myself at the mockery I made.

Sandman Sims, 86, Tap Dancer and Fixture at the Apollo, Dies By DOUGLAS MARTIN (text from The NYtimes accuracy under scrutiny) Sandman Sims, the celebrated tap dancer and Apollo Theater legend, died on May 20 in the Bronx. He was 86, although he long maintained that his age was "a matter of opinion." For decades he was "executioner" at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, chasing unpopular acts off the stage on amateur nights, sometimes with a toy gun. He told disconsolate losers about how he...
