Hi Sera- Yes, you're in the right place...Congrats on the book - that's quite an achievement. I'll tell Sammy Jo to check in here if he knows about the SS date or perhaps a Plaid devotee could answer.. I always think of you at Halloween now after we sent you to the parade for Taboo - remember?

Re: Miss Understood's Hi from Thailand

Miss Understood ·
The pop music here changes quickly, but a few years ago there was a popular trannie pop singer named "Jern Jern". I bought her album. It was nothing amazing but just a cool thing to have. There is also a popular TV host who appears regularly in and out of drag. I haven't seen him on TV (my cheap room doesn't have one) but My friend showed me a book about her. While they are prim about some things (they edit sex scenes out of Western films)they seem much more comfortable with gender varience.

In such a short span David W. did more for breakthrough art and Aids politics than most of us could hope for in a lifetime. One of the few art shows I've ever attended and gone away intoxicated with the creativity of the work. There's not much more astounding then seeing work you may have dreamt of or intended to create and then brought to reality by a fanatic obsessed. My initial reaction was, damn he beat me to it and then realized, oh great, now I don't have to do it because much of it...

I've been getting alot of inquiries about our Christmas show this year, and thought I would share the plans here for others who might be curious. After spending the last six Christmases in a row deep in a run, I have decided to just do a big one-night Very Jackie Christmas this year in a more theatrical venue. I adore doing the kind of intricate structured theatricals that this show has evolved into, and love spending so much of this crazy season with my backstage family. But the lesson of...

I agree that M2M (or as Flloyd and I like to call it, F2M) is a step in the right direction for the NYU-infested 3rd ave. I'm a big fan of the Unagi which they have for very cheap. But overall I'm still partial to good old SUNRISE MART (it's on Stuyvesant Street just east of 3rd - take the elevator). Viva la japonaise! One thing I'd like to bring up here is the recent closing of many of our neighborhood markets and stores. BOTTOM LINE (10th & 1st) closed its doors this spring and I used...

Agreed S'tan... I have to admit I am fascinated by this whole thing. So fascinated, in fact, that I, too, actually looked up her response on Amazon.com. In it she likens her writing to a "virtuoso performance." That is simply hogwash from an over-stroked ego. Very few artists have the strength of a Picasso to edit themselves. Another part of the problem of course is that she has dug her own grave by creating the Vampire Chronicles in the first place-- thereby doubly inviting those "it's not...

Hatches I went into Amazon.com too, to try to read that stuff and couldn't locate it. Can you tell me where to go, hons? Love your comments... Anne's "Dickensian" principles in truth put her on the side of the bad guys in those novels - the rich folk, who run industries that trample the little guys! Lexx your edit works 'cause you made it all one sentence; concision is her #1 problem. Putting 'slander' at the end of the sentence is better too, as I agree her use of "urinal" is a dangling...

Cara was at the R4F Tribute/Celebration on 10/3 and I get the sense that she has really embraced Dean as a subject. She has submitted 2,000 words- including an account of the full moon Wiccan prayer circle ceremonies on the beach led by Miss Viva. I truly hope that this account gets through the final edit- this aspect of Dean's spirituality has not come out in the reporting to date. Dean was wearing one thing when he was found- his pentagram. Fabulously accessorized to the last- work!
