Daddy, I was listening to an old mix tape I made for myself in the early 90's and came across a classic that I adored but haven't heard in awhilecalled "I wanna thank you lord" If I remember correctly you remixed it or produced it under club...
Both Zazoo and I rode the "F" train into work with Daddy this morning. We hadn't seen the previous posts, and didn't expect it, so it was a really funny moment, half asleep thinking about work, and looking up to see Johnny with a magnifying glass pointing at us. What a morning not to have a camera. Satori
Congrats on the Glammy nomination Daddy! But you deserve like 100 awards, at least. Who'd you have to serve? Get ready for loads more groupies, free coke offers, and the vicious glares of the competition.
Johnny's latest podcast (uploaded today) is my favorite so far. 100% Dynell #5 is called ELECTRO VOCAL ANTHEMS, and it is dripping with vocals...pretty, pretty and guaranteed to help your makeup application for that big upcoming night out! http://www.johnnydynell.net
I have to admit it's a little wierd posting in your own "Hopelessly Devoted" topic but hey... I found this up on youtube. These guys from Australia did a version of my song "Jam Hot" and I think it's genius. I love it!
... My favorite quote from a review of the exhibit was "~Better are images capturing the rough-hewn dirt and grit of the club scene. New York DJ Johnny Dynell rushes the lens screaming with his middle finger~"
The gal in the jumper and her pal the blonde in the mini were the hottest numbers in the place, next to the birthdayboy of course. And Daddy never looked younger, like a Benjamin Button. Great to see Basil too who let slip he and Joey are doing With A Twist again in September. And Empress is always so fun when her eyes are that large. Enjoy another ride around the sun Daddy !
Who can remember that far back! But the Club 69 record I did was "Riding into Battle" and the vocalist I used was me. And yes, I was in Menudo Nancy... What of it? And yes, it's ALL true about Me & Ricky Martin. So there I said it. Is that what you want? And this is my web site. johnnydynell.com
Daddy, I just checked out your site...intresting! I was an intern at atlantic records from 1988-89 at the same time I managed an artist on pow wow records "poetry" produced by dj jazzy jay(zulu nation) You must have known herbie corsack or dealt with mark kamins.....there's a blast from the past. Ps. I own all the menudo records too!
