Food riots have already started in Egypt, Thailand, Cote de Ivoire, and Haiti. Soon a regular news feature will be the food riots of the week report. I also think these reports are the seed of a conscious effort to bring pressure/shame on all the oil producing nations -if they are cuasing high gas prices which then drive the cost of food up due to the higher transport costs, then those oil producers will eventually have fingers pointed at them about how they are causing the world to starve.
