Re: I'm from normal parents (The Pyramid Club Topic)
There were DEFINATELY pictures, I remember seeing the police horses. I wasn''t at the party but I remember hearing about it and seeing the pics. We did "Come Fly With Us" at Jackie 60 in the mid '90's. It was a House of Domination night with the girls as Stewardesses. I remember asking all the Queens on several Susanne Bartsch trips to collect as many vomit bags as they could. They ended up mopping everything for us- vomit bags, emergency instruction cards, life jackets, anything that was...

Re: Can We Build a Less Prejudiced TG Sense of Community?
I can't easily jump in (being the world's ugliest gender-variant "thing" to come down the pike as most of you know) but this discussion is so smart & riviting. I've been around the drag world for years. It started at G.G. Barnum's in Times Square where I was a go go dancer. One day I got caught in the G.G. dressing room. The "girls" asked Miss Peter- The Sweetie of her day, "Can we keep him, Can we keep him Miss Peter?" They did. Never a tranny or a chaser I always appreciated "the...

Re: Locomotion at Roxy- Saturdays
Yeah, I think it was Lee Chapel. He was doing a Susanne Bartsch Copa type thing but it eventually evolved into something of it's own. Really fun. Miss Understood was a big part of it as I remember.

Re: RIP, VIP
I don't know if any of you remember him. He was a British club kid/artist who spent some time in NY a few years ago, around the time Susanne Bartsch got married. He had skulls built into the sides of his shoes, as well as on his headpiece. He told me he'd been a friend of Leigh Bowery's. Well, anyway, a British DJ told me he died recently. I was so sorry to hear about it, he was a very sweet guy.

Re: Party Monster - Michael Alig
Bridgette, I can totally understand why you'd be interested in the 80's/90's NY club scene. There was a lot of excitement, color, and creativity. What I find unfortunate is how much credit for this is being given to Michael Alig. The whole "Club Kid" thing was really an extension of what was first being done in small East Village Venues such as the Pyramid. Flloyd, Sister Dimension, Lahoma, Olympia, and many other freaks were doing their thing way before Disco 2000. When the small venues...

Re: Farewell Charming Old New York
Farewell charming old lines outside of nightclubs! Finally, no more waiting around to get into all my favorites: Cielo, Spirit, et al. It's PartyBuddys! Yesterday's NYT had a fascinating story about a couple of alleged former Limelight habitues, who are putting their club-smarts to good use: PartyBuddys helps Joe and Jane Schmos bypass lines and gain instant access to VIP lounges at all of the city's top clubs -- for a fee. I am so down with the hire-a-paparazzo, too. A steal at $250/night.

Susanne Bartsch / David Barton Toy Party?
Hi, on the recent "Where's Johnny" that I had emailed to me, down at the end it mentioned the "Toy Party" coming up on 12/2. Well, I called the David Barton Gym, and they knew nothing of it, and I haven't seen any word from Susanne about it. Is there...

Bloody Mary Party Oct 30

Re: Party Monster Michael Alig (part 2)
Kitten, I just looked you up online and you seem to be somewhat worldy and intelligent. That makes it all the more shocking to me that you think it's OK to kill someone because he sold drugs. I am constantly horrified by how easily some people are to excuse murder because the guy threw cool parties. Michael did not create "club kids" People were dressing up and going out way before he got here. There were tons of parallel scenes happening at the same time as his. To name a few: Sussanne...

Re: RIP, VIP - Chapter 3 (10/21/05++)
Another one gone from our community. The Baroness was found dead in her apartment today. I don't know how she died. This is NOT the fetish designer Baroness, this is The Baroness associated with Susanne Bartsch, especially in the glory days of the Copa in the late eighties. I always thought The Baroness' drag was brilliant. She was always the Grande Damme. When we toured with Susanne through Europe in the 90's, The Baroness and I were often roomates. Although she lived her last years as a...

Re: Farewell Charming Old New York: Part 3
This should perhaps go under nightclubs. Or perhaps the nightclubs topic should just move here altogether. I always look forward to making the rounds this time of year, catching up with old friends and generally just 'living' a little more; I really get caught up in the festiveness of the season, the socializing, the maybe too much drinking..all of which I found at the lovely RAPTURE recently, mmmmmm. So, feeling in the holiday spirit, and just wanting to throw back some drinks in an...

Re: Bloody Mary Party Oct 30
That is completely out of control Judy. I'm sorry you had to endure being assaulted by security inside the club. The promoters should be personally apologizing to you and they themselves should be enraged by that kind of situation. To have a mature and respectable woman being punched by security has no excuse whatsoever. When security starts committing the crime it's time the promoters realize they have failed in their position.

Re: Bloody Mary Party Oct 30
Well, it's certainly not Suzanne or Patricia's fault, and I would not consider them in any way responsible. I think security comes with the venue, and the Hudson Hotel, or whomever is in charge of their rental space for parties is the one who should clean up their security guards. Why on Earth, they would want to prevent us from retrieving our coats to the point of physical violence, is beyond me.

Re: Bloody Mary Party Oct 30
It's Hudson Hotel's security so the hotel should be alerted that security is assaulting customers.

Re: Bloody Mary Party Oct 30
I'm sure it wasn't Ms.B or Patricia telling security to assault guests. I don't know the contractual arrangement between them and the hotel either, however, whatever the terms, statutorally you are a 'guest' of the hotel because you are on it's property - but you are also a guest of the promoters because they are representing the event and have agreed to hold themselves out to the public as hosts. Unfortunate for them as it may be, though they didn't instruct security to assault guests they...

Thank you guys for all the wonderful support. I don't want Susanne to think I'm a bother to her, nor do I want to get anyone in trouble. It would, however, be nice for the hotel to have better control of their security people so that this kind of thing doesn't happen again.

Re: Bloody Mary Party Oct 30
Judy, I, too, am appalled that this happened. And I would certainly never want to attend this event unless what happened is resolved... and quickly. And I am sure Susanne will take steps to do so. I am also certain Susanne will not think that you are being a bother at all. Any producer would welcome a level-headed report/discussion about an incident like this 100%. After all, the next time the "security" person acts out in this manner, it could be much more serious. And, it's not a matter of...

No, GOOD UNITS, the space under the Hudson Hotel, is currently not hosting parties due to some improvements they have to do to reopen for big nights like Bloody Mary. Josh Wood's party scheduled for tonight there has also been moved. We'll have more news on Bloody Mary soon, so far next one is in Miami on NYE, Johnny (Dynell) is spinning..

Hey Just got back from Chicago. The party at "Le Passage" was plenty happening and much fun. Winding down, and unpacking, but I'll give a full review soon. We took plenty of pictures also. I'll try to get them online this week. Some of the NYC people present: Susanne Bartsch (of course) Amanda Lepore, Richie Rich, Iggy and *BOB*. This event is going to happen every first Friday of the month. It is already getting a reputation as a good time, so expect to be hearing about it. XXXOOO Satori

We just went with the flow. Thanks for pointing Ms. Bartsch our way We are unfortunately not going to be able to make this month's party at "Le Passage" in Chicago, as we just went up a couple of weeks ago, and are now budget constrained. The theme was "jungle". lots of plastic blow up monkeys, grass skirts, chiquita bananas, and a seamstress who was stitching and stuffing banana-shaped...
