Re: 9/11/01 - The village signpost - please check in here
I departed JFK at 7:00 AM for a Salt Lake City connection. (I had turned down a flight to San Francisco, (from Newark?), agent said SFO gets fogged in too much). Over Nebraska the captain put out the speed brakes and we began a rapid descent to Omaha. They said it was a problem with air traffic control. On the ground I had a very concerned voice msg from my sister, who told me what happened. I will be in Omaha until they tell us we can move again. I can't wait to get out of here so I can...

May all of our loved ones be alright. The news here in Australia is scary. There is talk of America going to war. Of thousands dead. I wish I could send blood from Australia. I have been up watching this since it began for me here at 11:30pm here/about. It's 7:30 am now. Desperate to reach loved ones in NYC. If you will, pray with me? Dear Goddess Dear God Dear any Deity who is listening; Protect those injured and awating help, may they or as many as is possible be found safe; Shine on those...

My dear Miss Understood, I know there is a novel out called Trans Sister Radio. It is written by Chris A Bohjalian. It is kind of an updated Myra Breckenridge. It is about a college professor who decides to become a woman. I know someone just bought the rights to the book and a movie is in the works. Hey, I wish I knew the URL of the Trans Sister Radio station. It sounds like fun. Yowsa! Is this a put-on courtesy of Rose or does a net cross-dressing radio station really exist? If not, why...

Re: Straight To Hell (Sex Stories)
It was Thanksgiving nite 1993 and Faux Pas and I had just had a scrumptious meal at my friend Sara's place in Grammercy Park. I was full of fabulous food, fine wine, and fierce herb. What more could a single twentysomething fella want in New York City at midnite? What? Sex you say? Why yes in deed, don't mind if I do. The nite was that kind of cold that was actually refreshing from being in a pot filled apartment for several hours. The air had that healthy quality, that made you enjoy each...

Im not a writer so please pardon the grammatical errors. I had an adventure last nite I wanted to share. Last night at Kitch Inn I noticed a girl sitting alone with a sad look on her face and went over to cheer her up. Her name was Simone, it turned out she had a fight with her husband. Anyway we danced and drank the night away and she was so loaded I had to drive her home. All night she had been touching me and we were kissing each other lightly, she was so pretty. When we got to her...

I was just doing my posts on the boards and kinda browsed thru these last pages of awesome smut. I had a GREAT DAY TODAY!!! Only in New York children, only in New York. I recently moved into a larger room in my apartment. I've totally gotten into this new space because the back door to my patio and backyard is in my room. It also leads to a special entrance to the laundry room downstairs. Today I was laying in bed waiting for my EX- to come by for some delicious EX- SEX. Mind you, I had...

Re: Miss Understood's Hi from Thailand
I took a one day Thai cooking course. They actually cover a hell of a lot in one day! I'll soon be the green curry queen of NYC! So this guy I'm dating here in Chiang Mai, Wat, the one who had the circle jerks with the monks, he's really great to hang out with. I feel like a biker chick on the back of his motorcycle! He's entering graduate school to become a teacher. He's a bartender in a very odd location. At this three level flea market type place there is a weird long hallway on the side...

I am sorry this post is a long and scattered but since it is fresh in my mind everything came out all at once. My tenses are screwey, and my spelling is a bit off, so patience please... Hey Mom, You would have loved it all! I am by no means a camper, and I dealt with it just fine. I was afraid it would be 200 homos huddled around a habachi (sp?) cooking an eggplant, but they have the system DOWN! Meals are regular 3 times a day. People are asked to participate any way they feel...

I saw The Jazz Passengers with Debbie last night at "The Knitting Factory" They were great! I especially loved their twisted Ska / funk version of "The Tide Is High". As much as I loved the show however, I couldn't help but think that something was missing. The musicians are brilliant, Debbie's voice is better than ever, she looks incredible... I just kept picturing two skinny little bookmark dancers on each side of Debbie doing interpretive Isadora Duncan-esk dance moves. Food for thought.

Re: Can We Build a Less Prejudiced TG Sense of Community?
I have been out in the world as Lisa for about two years now but only a few times have I stepped into daylight. I know that the courage to do this will have to come from myself just like the courage it will take for the trans communite to be a real part of the world will have to come from the trans persons themselves. I am still alittle scared to get involved with a TG support group becuase that just puts me one step closer to my truth and that can be scarry, but I need that support and I...

I have been reading everyones posts with such enthusiasm and interest. I would like to share a few things with several of you: April: I know something of the feelings that you are going through about family and transitioning. I remember how much angst and fear that caused me. Once I knew there was no turning back for me any longer, I actually remember having thoughts of wishing my family dead so that I would be able to live. As insane as that sounds (and is) that's a good example of the...

Holly was a steam roller. She paved the way. She had one of the first galleries in SOHO. When SHE moved downtown EVERYONE moved downtown. Holly started so many people's careers. Too many to mention. She was often the first person to give an artist a break. Most of the household name artists of the 70's, 80's, 90's and beyond got their start somehow with Holly. Holly, subsequently, had one the best art collections in the world. Going to her apt. (57th Street) was like going to the Museum of...

I must agree that trans-discrimination has been phenomenally irrational and intense, but I have seen wonderful changes for the better. I have experienced just about evey kind of abuse over the years. It's important to keep ones center and not take any o f that harshness inside of oneself, but to recognize it for what it is and let it go. Yes, it has often seemed that too many people believe that a Transperson is nothing but something to point at, laugh and gawk. Many young men and some not...

I'm praying for acceptance of Goddess's will. I guess grieving takes time. There will be a Memorial Service and I hope Linda and/or Antony will keep us informed. I had the good fortune to do a taped interview with Page and her former husband, Peter a couple years back, maybe 1999 or 2000. I interviewed them seperately and then together. In it I asked her how she identified and she gave a very surprising answer. If there's any interest I would be willing to lend out parts of the interview as...

I'm not totally up on my Manson trivia, but from what I've heard Manson & The Spooky Kids did run around with lunchboxes... some similar fash ion pieces there... Their first album came out right around the time the NYC clubkid scene was dying. Don't know if that was much of a help. Satori

Anna Nicole, Remarkably well done, such a vivid and "adult" image you drew in my head, I will have to draw it. I can't help but note how genius your ferret is, how well he works his way in and out of your story perfectly. The ferret is a very detailed and revealing manifestation of actuality ... while you and the boy are lost in hormone-addled states of imaginative anticipation and delirium, the ferret is vivid and real. Nothing is pristine, neither is it lurid. It just is, but spectacular...

Re: David Wojnarowicz - Artist
In such a short span David W. did more for breakthrough art and Aids politics than most of us could hope for in a lifetime. One of the few art shows I've ever attended and gone away intoxicated with the creativity of the work. There's not much more astounding then seeing work you may have dreamt of or intended to create and then brought to reality by a fanatic obsessed. My initial reaction was, damn he beat me to it and then realized, oh great, now I don't have to do it because much of it...

Next to Quentin Crisp, one of my favorite New Yorkers was an uptown girl whom I belatedly learned passed on. She was listed as a name on the bottom of the page but the link wasn't working. Hi all, this was such devastating news. Got a call from Rose Wood earlier who told us that donations of clothes/supplies for Kelly can also be left at The Chelsea Hotel c/o Room 724. Donations will be collected from there and brought out by cab as they accumulate. Please do not leave cash in that manner (bring it instead to the above club locations) but clothing, costumes, etc. She has absolutely nothing, so almost anything would help. Kelly is on the small side I would think no bigger than...

Patsy (Joanna Lumley) has now left her job on a glossy magazine to become a very important Creative Director and Buyer for Jeremy's, a new...
