Re: Sally's Hideaway

Night Nurse ·
Sally's in the mid 90s was always a bit edgy for me, the white girl in the sweater set and miniskirt, but that is what I loved about it. I went there more as an alternative to Edelweiss, or when Edelweiss was enduring many of it's intermittent closings by the Guiliani squads, but I loved that it existed along with all the other Times Square spots like Edelweiss & Cats. Sweetie always wanted Queen Bee to be a mix of the uptown and downtown drag/tranny worlds (a mix of BoyBar girls,...

This was forwarded to me this morning, and was allegedly written by the singer/actress and sent to President Bush... Date: Wednesday, February 25, 2004 4:44:39 PM Dear President Bush, Today you called upon Congress to move quickly to amend the US Constitution, and set in Federal stone a legal definition of marriage. I would like to know why. In your speech, you stated that this Amendment would serve to protect marriage in America, which I must confess confuses me. Like you, I believe in the...

Daddy and Chi Chi..would love to hear your thoughts on Puerto Vallarta. David and I are considering a trip to the area, specifically Nuevo Vallarta, first week of April. Not an ideal time temperature-wise, but it's when we can get away. What's kept you going back time and again? We went to San Jose del Cabo two years ago and LOVED it, it was warm and surprising quite empty, for January. Nearby Cabo San Lucas, which we knew to stay away from, was another (crowded) story though. Ick. Thanks...

Hello readers, I'm in Stockholm, it's 6am and I can't sleep (stop snickering Bonnie), so thought I'd use this time to catch you up... STUTTGART- What has come as a surprise to me (and everyone on tour) is that the weather has drastically improved. It now feels like early summer with temps in the high 60's and super sunny. I'm telling you this it seems that even just a little sun therapy goes a long way to improving everyone's mood- both band and crew. It means sightseeing/daytrips are more...

STOCKHOLM/OSLO: I am lumping these 2 days together because, well to be honest they sucked for me and why dwell. I wasn't happy with my sets and the crowd response was luke warm at best. The fact that the next stop is Copenhagen is the only thing keeping me off the ledge cause I've got a fierce crew there who are all coming to the show. I will say that for the band the audiences in Stockoslo were some of the best so far on the tour (yes, rubbing salt in my wounds, BAH!). But somehow I know...

CPH (cont'd): So went to dinner with friends at my fave place and got turned out. We gorged ourselves on food and drink, including this very expensive champagne that frozen then uncorked to remove any sediment then recorked and kept cold for 15 years. Unreal. And the diunner was free cause my friend was celebrating her birthday and her man wanted to pay for everything. What a grift! My 2 gigs went great and I spent the night catching up wioth a girlfriend who made sure I didn't go to bed and...

How ominous! I wonder what the augurs of the Caesars would say about that one? Eagles are hawks - not all hawks are eagles . . . that is eagles are in the hawk family. I'm not a bird expert, just a dilettante, but hawks are typified by a number of identifiers: talons, beak type, wing shape, flying/gliding behavior ability etc. (Oh goodness, I'm a bird nerd!) Most of the hawks found in NYC are Peregrine Falcons - which were reintroduced to the area few years back. They were almost killed out...
