Re: I'm from normal parents (The Pyramid Club Topic)

Poison Eve ·
Who could forget the ill-fated Cuchofritos? I remember going to The Pyramid one Sunday night in the early 90's - just as "Fuck!" was about to end. Being an NYU suck-in-your-cheeks gender-performance snob then (then?), I was anticipating a memorable show. Having read about the legendary likes of Ethyl and the Pyramid ilk, I wanted to be astounded. We were treated to a rather shoddy amatuer strip contest instead. But there was one redeeming factor...Hattie Hathaway and Richard Move MCing the...

Yes Evie, the blue-painted mohawked stripper still emails me from Florida at odd intervals (thanks to Hapi Phace.) But did you know who his boyfriend was around that time? None other than Angel, who was to later end up dismembered in the Hudson River thanks to Michael Alig & Co. Just a little bit of lunchpail trivia for you!

I agree. Having haunted Miami when Collins Ave was filled with blue haired ladies, and there were stores everywhere selling the most gorge lawn ornaments (especially what seemed to be a thousand varieties of the black jockey holding the lamp), I say, "Another city ruined!" The Delano INDEED!

This past weekend, I went up to the Adirondacks to get a brief respite from war-torn Manhattan. I took Amtrak to a small town in the foothills, then a taxi to the cottage of an old friend. I had been given the keys, so I had the whole place to myself. I had forgotten that 1) It's 20 degrees colder in the mountains this time of year, and 2) hunting season is at full throttle right about now. Well, since I neglected to bring anything red, I was not going to venture into the woods at all, so I...

I took a one day Thai cooking course. They actually cover a hell of a lot in one day! I'll soon be the green curry queen of NYC! So this guy I'm dating here in Chiang Mai, Wat, the one who had the circle jerks with the monks, he's really great to hang out with. I feel like a biker chick on the back of his motorcycle! He's entering graduate school to become a teacher. He's a bartender in a very odd location. At this three level flea market type place there is a weird long hallway on the side...

I'm sure you've all seen Stephen Sprouse's new Red White and Blue line at Target stores nationwide and online... http://www.target.com Some of it is quite cute but the website selections pale in comparison to what is actually in the stores (apparently, as per my "source"...let's just call her "Lulu"), anyway I got the women's shirt online and it's very cute, and the material is good quality. Needless to say these clothes are well on their way into becoming somewhat of a collectors item,...

This news made me sad. I never knew her on a personal level, but Page was one of the first freaks I saw when I came to New York. I have a picture of her somewhere from my Louis Quatorze days backstage at the Pyramid totally nude with all-blue body paint, white hair, white nipples and white sunglasses. I think it was at Linda Simpson's Channel 69 party. For a kick I sent the picture of Page to my family back home. As liberal as they are, they still blinked when they saw it and cleared their...

From Brandon Ohlson (as dictated to me): Am happy to be back in New York after a wonderful month in Provicetown. Daddy's birthday party was a delightful welcome home. Performed Go-Go Real, communed with Bobby Miller, Scotty the Blue Bunny, Edie (dynamic transvestite hoofer from NYC) and the lovely Varla Jean Merman. Soaked in the sun, sand and surf. Met lots of town characters, had a good time doing the show, and enjoyed the much needed respite from NYC. Glad to be back in the swing of...

It was impressive to meet you as well Tonya, and your listing of DW's film work is very impressive. I wonder what ever became of the film we made together entitled, I think, "Brian Berlin". I was the main character and I OD'd in an alley at the end. David literally painted my face blue for the scene. But he really didn't have to. It was shot one freezing day in January on Charles Lane in the West Village. BTW that is my friend Chris Sharp and his boyfriend dancing in one of the Phil Zwickler...

I agree, Michael Curry (Mayfair) is the one. Rowan had it right with blue-collar sex. And, a bonus for me, he is the one least likely to run off with another man. Lastly, he seems to be the one that is the hardest to get in bed (aside from some of the All Saints characters). Challenge for me!

Okay, it's now 8:30 PM. I'm drunk so excuse any misspellinssssezz. I love it here! My hair is tipped in blue... maybe it helps me be to be a freak magnet. There was this sexy, sort of husky guy at the bar. He had that meaty nice body that's muscley, but not too obnoxiously toned... and he had LOTS of tattoos! That's very unusual here. And when you do see it, it's not in the gay crowd. He was born in Laos and grew up in Northern Thailand. He went to college in England, so he had this weird...

Scotty the Blue Bunny was reminding me last night of the time Otter had scheduled a midget to hide beneath her hoop skirt and fist her vagina on stage. Well, the midget did not show up, so the enterprising Otter went out to a squat on Avenue C (in hoop skirt) and got a little squatter boy to complete the act. Very high art.

Around page 50-something I started to doze off, there was too much argot, hootin' and hollerin', and the magic realism wasn't holding intact. Neither was the vaunted "incest" stuff so awfully shocking to me. Anyone who does sex work implicitly is "permitted" to do so by their Mother or Father. Big wow. But as I read on and found myself in a somewhat overstimulated state. I started writing like crazy in my diary and realized... I had been seeded. My mind was racing (and still is) - the effect...

Oh Jenny... Sorry you and your Mom had such a bad time. Obviously this night is not for you. In "The Big City" Jenny, people go out a little bit later. Actually, a show that starts at 10:15 in a nightclub is pretty early. Also, in New York we don't take things as literally as you do in Danbury. We can watch a video without the sound for instance. The video is atmospheric, you're not supposed to stand in front of the screen and watch it all night like "Friends". It's decor. And we didn't put...

"Pink is the navy blue of India." Yes I believe that segment in Funny Face was based on her. I once met Mrs. Vreeland at the Pyramid; she appeared one night with Lilliane Montevecchi, all in black and pearls and all of five feet tall, drinking tumbler-sized vodkas on the rocks. She also sent us a telegram which Sister reproduced on one entire wall in her home.
