Re: Remembering Terence Sellers aka Mistress Angel Stern

She was a woman who understood the ways of men. She knew the proper way to light a cigar. She ruled with a firm leather gloved hand. She cried at true beauty. She wrote words on paper that could make you shiver. She knew when enough was enough. She was fearless in the face of intellect. She had a tender heart behind her harshest barb. She was loved by everyone who waited patiently to see behind the veil. She knew she was part illuminati and part pagan. I will love and miss her forever. Rest...

May all of our loved ones be alright. The news here in Australia is scary. There is talk of America going to war. Of thousands dead. I wish I could send blood from Australia. I have been up watching this since it began for me here at 11:30pm here/about. It's 7:30 am now. Desperate to reach loved ones in NYC. If you will, pray with me? One of the many other memorable moments was the night we all witnessed the sacrifice of Justin's original Kiki dress. It was a cinematographer's wet dream. It was a dark and rainy night; we (Pickles, Granite, Garrett, Denise and Francis, Goneaway, Scooter) went all the way out to memorial ridge for the beginning of the ritual. All of us crouched down in a circle with black umbrellas, granite created a ceremonial circle of rocks and candles. We all tried to keep the candles lit as Granite...

" I guess for me, my freedom to live as I please was a higher priority than it is for some. " That may be it in a nutshell, Miss Understood. Sometimes the desire may be growing and latent and its a matter of timing. I remember what a quiet, shy kid I was until in 8th grade, the boy behind me in class would not leave me alone. He was always whispering funny things to me and singing songs to me really low until he finally won me over and in a big way. Suddenly I was transformed, which really...

I must agree that trans-discrimination has been phenomenally irrational and intense, but I have seen wonderful changes for the better. I have experienced just about evey kind of abuse over the years. It's important to keep ones center and not take any o f that harshness inside of oneself, but to recognize it for what it is and let it go. Yes, it has often seemed that too many people believe that a Transperson is nothing but something to point at, laugh and gawk. Many young men and some not...

I share some of the same sentiments but the reality is 'horrible criminal acts' is the basis for 70%? of the content of movies and TV for quite some time now. I also try to take into account what was Alig's intent at the time. As I understand it, it was a squabble that escalated to an attack. When you're drunk or using drugs, which both of them admittedly did, it's likely you don't know you're own strength when push comes to shove. It's not like he lay in wait to off his source to avoid a...

You did not really mean to imply that if you're under the influence of some chemical it somehow excuses your actions criminal or otherwise. As to the horrible acts shown in movies in this case it was a real person and a real crime and it is being turned into a sideshow by the film makers. Why don't they just call the film "MaGILA Monster", And add a light hearted twist of whimsey to the whole affair.

No, my intentions are not to imply, defend, excuse any 'horrible criminal act' but rather to examine closely as many elements available that might be significant to a topic and try to have a rounded informed opinion rather than just my own gut emotional reaction. That's normal but when we allow gut reactions to solely supersede rational thought, we open up all kinds of canned worms. Is not the premise of civil law about resolving disputes resulting from gut reactions? Although this...

Alas I have not seen the film version of American Psycho and so I can't comment on it. However your political take on it is very interesting, and an example of how time does things to movies and the way we interpret them and feel about them. Films that were flopped or received tepid enthusiasm from viewers initially can be hailed as classics twenty years later, etc. Sept 11th certainly cast much of the 90s in a different light than was possible for us to see before.
