I agree that M2M (or as Flloyd and I like to call it, F2M) is a step in the right direction for the NYU-infested 3rd ave. I'm a big fan of the Unagi which they have for very cheap. But overall I'm still partial to good old SUNRISE MART (it's on Stuyvesant Street just east of 3rd - take the elevator). Viva la japonaise! I just got my 10th massage in 6 weeks. I think all 10 add up to the price of 1 in NY! Thai massages are rough, but they make my back feel alright again. I got one in Vietnam that was a bit different. She did a lot with her feet, walking on my back and the back of my legs. I guess fat people don't give massages. Well, the 6 fat people in Vietnam will manage to find other occupations. Maybe it IS the diet in Asia, but I'm skeptical. Thang is over 30 and packs away beer like a German truck...

I still haven't seen it yet, I've been so busy lately. But Nowhereboy I can tell you as someone who DID live in NYC during the Alig years, there was soooooo much more going on around town that had nothing to do with the club kid movement whatsoever, and the general public will not be seeing that portrayed in Party Monster (and, on artistic grounds, I can certainly understand why the producers chose to focus on one specific scene). Those other scenes however are what I tend to remember more.

They should re-name Second Avenue "ATM Way". A Chase bank is opening on my corner at 10th Street where the Second Avenue Deli used to be (which BTW, I don't miss. The food was mediorcre, disgustingly overpriced and the owners were pompous bores). I must admit it's the first time I've been enthusiastic about an ATM opening. Chase bought the Bank of New York, where I've banked for years, so now I am not charged ATM fees at any Chase machines -- and soon there will be one right downstairs. Hope...

I know of two .... one is on 10th Street at Second Avenue on the west side, right in front of St. Marks Church where 10th turns off onto Stuyvesant Street. The other is on 7th Street between 2nd & 1st Ave, smack in the middle of the block on the downtown side, right next to that kitsch shop owned by Brandywine and her boyfriend.
