You would LIVE for the Indian market area in Bangkok. It's so mysterious! There's a huge block of gorgeous shops that you can walk around, but it's the gritty market maze within the block that's so fascinating. You walk around, getting lost, weaving be tween the indoor and outdoor, accepting the uncomfortable heat, stumbling upon all sorts of hidden treasures. And, as always, everything's crazy cheap! I guess it's the closest we can get to India for the time being. I feel terrible about...

It is too much for any one person to take in one night. So I will be adding links to names and places throughout this...

About seven or eight years ago or at least sometime before the new moollennium I ran into Bernard , the 101 Ave.A doorman, somewhere near midtown and asked how//where he had been as I hadn't seen him in ages and he said he had moved to Canada to start of all things, a men's ware design shop. Bravo which just got me thinking the 'clubs we loved' should have a gatekeeper topic with all the sagas relevant to it? There's gotta be a trove of dada data there. Maybe dedicated to Haui Montog? ...

i just saw that adam's recent descent into mental illness is all the attention adam got & feel this must be remedied. (oh right, he's obnoxious & cute too. like i said.) adam took my 11-year-old, boring, suntan-parlors-&-gift-shops suburban world (yes i was raised on LI) & turned it upside down with one viewing of "stand & deliver!" a pretty boy in makeup with pistols & tall leather boots?! That's sweet of you Gigi. To bad I'm not into poontang these days. I keep getting compliments from girls. So, I'm in a towel in the bathhouse. Tonight is the big Chinese New Year party. I was hanging out with a friend of a friend of a friend who said it's good to come during the day, so we got here at 4PM. It is nice actualy. There's so much outdoor area that it's like being in a fancy resort. I feel SO much less self conscious in a towel because so many of the honkys here are geriatric. The...

Asia loves color. Pink and green are everywhere, and I don't just mean on the Hello Kitty products. Chinese, Japanese, and Thai graphic, package, and industrial design is full of that candy apple green color that I live for! At home I'm the last person to ever notice a car or a bus, but here I snap photos of them. The regular busses are apple green. There's some sort of long distance busses that are orange with a big "Mod Era" looking stripe. There are pink and purple cars. I took a picture...

I see all colors everywhere... without acid. Just Pink and green are just especially prominent. In the U.S. the trend for color in product design is FINALLY returning thanks to the late 90's IMAC. All of a sudden there are colorful boom boxes and telephones. I wish they didn't all have to look like a tranclucent jelly, but it's better than the black and beige of the last two decades. How I long for an avacado refrigerator! The reason I'm not going on and on about how there are trannies...

Greg is our very favorite DJ, who also happens to do web design His site is here: HausWerkz From there you can check out both his DJ site, and see a list of all the sites that he's designed. He does a lot of music industry people, and he did Jojo's site also. His mostly html sites with flash accents (like DJ Kerri's) will work really well for us, cause we'll be able to update it ourselves once it is live. I understand what you are saying about this time of winter. We both try to make sure...

Here's a sneak preview of Z & S design for the Aeon card, which they will be wearing at Arcadia and then is on display at the Gallery..

Tonya, I take some of my suggestion back, I was not aware that you were attempting to rehearse the whole show set by set. That indeed would have really tightened up the flow and really added a lot of texture by way of 'structured improv' for transitions, etc. And of course it is always the struggle to get a large group of highly individualistic contributors with all their far flung life situations to be able to comit to rehearsals. The very simple point here is that you, or any ONE else can...

My husband John and I had a wonderful time at NOTS! Thanks to everyone who performed and help put this together! We took a few pictures of ourselves and our friends and a few of the performers in the first set, before the batteries in my camera died. I could smack myself for not bringing an extra set! Anyroad, if anyone else took pictures I'd love to see them, especially of Gypsy Wild doing SOTM... GW you were AWESOME!... and anything from the third set which we missed 'cause we had to leave...

Farewell charming old lines outside of nightclubs! Finally, no more waiting around to get into all my favorites: Cielo, Spirit, et al. It's PartyBuddys! Yesterday's NYT had a fascinating story about a couple of alleged former Limelight habitues, who are putting their club-smarts to good use: PartyBuddys helps Joe and Jane Schmos bypass lines and gain instant access to VIP lounges at all of the city's top clubs -- for a fee. I am so down with the hire-a-paparazzo, too. A steal at $250/night.

New Orleans Reborn: Theme Park vs. Cookie Cutter By NICOLAI OUROUSSOFF NEW ORLEANS - Optimism is in short supply here. And as people begin to sift through the wreckage left by Hurricane Katrina, there is a creeping sense that the final blow has yet to be struck - one that will irrevocably blot out the city's past. The first premonition arose when Mayor C. Ray Nagin announced that the model for rebirth would be a pseudo-suburban development in the Lower Garden District called River Garden.

Hi Rob, the site looks beautiful and is easy to use. I didn't look at everything yet but the design is atttractivly moderne... The thumbnails here aren't opening... http://www.rob-roth.com/works/tss.htm This is nothing against you but for us dial-up slaves in the Styx it is a little bit long to wait for images. Never mind the videos. We can't expect that. We are waiting on wireless from our "unobstructed southern exposure" as they say... one day. Have fun!

Today we visited the staggering monument that is the Acropolis. Along the way up we passed many quaint outdoor cafes along winding cobblestone paths that we will re-visit for dinner tonight. The Parthenon brought tears to my eyes, it was so overwhelming with its massive columns high atop the foothill of all foothills overlooking the entire city. What a feat of human ingenuity, determination and design. Mystical even ... I could feel the ghosts of humanity passing near me as we wandered...
