To the producers, promoters and artists who post their NYC Nightclubs and Events here-

We are happy to provide this free and helpful forum for the promotion of a wide variety of NYC nights.

As the boards have grown, we spend more our time just trying to enforce the few rules we have.

So, beginning immediately, we will delete the following topics as they are posted:

1) Duplicates - increasingly we have more than one person coming on to start a topic about the same club night, on the same date. The first topic will remain and any newer one will be deleted.

2) All-Caps titles - Please use caps ONLY for the important words in a subject line, or not at all. Save your "screaming" for the dancefloor!

Though we had been editing these subject lines, this has become time-consuming, so from now on, all-caps subject lines will cause the topic to be deleted.

Thanks to the majority of users who manage to stick by these rules and keep the boards informative and diverse.

GUIDELINES FOR POSTING EVENTS:

- ONE topic per regular weekly or monthly events. Please use a descriptive title and update new information IN THAT TOPIC. This encourages discussion of your event, which in turn makes people more interested in it. It also saves valuable space on our topic list page. Every time you or someone else posts in your topic, it gets bumped to the beginning of the list.

- We forbid all-capitals titles - please use capitals for your important phrases only.

- Keep titles short and targeted - DO NOT use silly phrases like "Best Party in New York" or rows of exclamation points in your title. Titles that take up more than two lines on the topic list will be edited by moderators.

- You are welcome to link to external sites, and add pictures that you are hosting or otherwise have permission to hotlink to. If you would like to upload pictures directly to our server, or start a photo album about your event, you must purchase a Board Membership ($30 a year). Please visit our Board Membership page for details.

- Placement of affiliate links, spyware or sponsored links in a post will be deleted immediately, as will posts offering illegal services or items that violate our Terms of Service (please read).

Following a warning, violation of the above rules will result in your username being suspended or terminated, and in extreme cases, you will be banned by IP.

NYC DRAG CLUBS AND RESOURCES (QMTV FORUMS)

Post all New York City and surrounding nightclub events, readings, shows, etc. that are of interest to Queenmother.tv's audience of drag, transgendered, transvestite or crossdressed readers. You can post events that are already listed in our NYC NIGHTCLUBS AND EVENTS forum, as long as they are specifically for this audience - some readers come directly from the QMTV website to the QMTV Forums and do not visit the other parts of the Motherboards.

READINGS

Spoken word and other readings can also be posted in our new WORDS AND WRITERS Forum.
I do apologize CHI CHI if i have inadvertantly violated any rules here . I have been trying to distinguish where to place my advertisement for my event for Halloween on motherboard for a week now ...... ( dont laugh )

Hi Romello-

Thanks for the inquiry - yes, you posted in the right forum. Your title was a bit long so I shortened it a bit - feel free to change it if you dont like the edit - but please keep it to 2 lines or shorter on the topic list.

Also, as your event was of especial interest to our core audience, it was moved by mods to the "Edge of Night", our picks forum that is first in the Nightclub category.

Hi nightclub wanderers-

Hope you are having a great summer. We've been getting more and more posts from promoters this summer that just restate the same information week after week, and clog the forums for users who actually want to find out about a variety of clubs.

As we made clear from the get-go, one topic for each weekly, or monthly and then POST IN THAT TOPIC with the reply button. That will automatically bump your topic to the top of the list. Duplicate topics will be removed as always.

If you start duplicate topics that we are always having to remove, your new topics will be placed in a moderation queue before they go live. In some extreme cases you will be banned - we dont have time to continually review the same posters.

Lets avoid that by observing the few rules we ask of you. Okay, now back to FUN!

We have just placed several chronic offenders here on moderation. IF THERE IS ALREADY A TOPIC STARTED FOR AN EVENT, DONT START ANOTHER ONE!
