Going to be a great theme for 2011! I think Jon Stiers sent you a line about possibly performing - he rocks. Looking forward to see him entrancing the crowd with his voice and piano skills. Can we get Brook Alyson's butt here this year?

aww. I want to see Wat...he sounds lovely. Man, it was so funny, cause tonight - I was sitting here in New York and watching tv and saw that "Drag Time" was on. I started freaking out, just as I did when I was wayy back in Michigan having big dreams about being "up there" with the "girls". All in all - it was different watching it this time. I have met alot of the guys in the film - like you...but I still got just excited. Being here and being in the nightlife and seeing everything hasn't...

The Duran Duran reunion project is still on. An album, produced by Nile Rodgers, is expected before the end of the year. Nick Rhodes, meanwhile, has been collaborating with original Duran singer Stephen Duffy. They've been re-recording some early Duran Duran demos they made together. Legendary British photographer Nick Knight's website http://www.showstudio.com has a downloadable shirt pattern courtesy of art-house designer Yohji Yamamoto. The shirt itself is pictured in the "images" section of the site (handy for those less experienced with clothes making, me included, because it gives you clues as to how to constuct it)...an added incentive, once done making the shirt you can send them a picture of yourself with your own creation! OK the Palladium, before it became a glitz pallace it did have some great rock shows. Like Nick Lowe or The Plasmatics One night Wendy O blasted the hood off a White Caddy and almost took out the people in the first five rows when it landed in "way" the wrong place. It being punk times they loved it and screamed for more. Needless to say Wendy never quite topped that moment. Wendy did come back and do the buzz saw act in the Mike Todd room but it was just not the same. She did shock some of...

OK, I too owned a rat wrap and wore eye make-up. Here is one of my '80's record covers. (It's a little beat up) Designed by the way by the brilliant Nick Egan. He did Culture Club, Bow Wow Wow, Malcolm McClaren, Hazy Fantazy to name a few. Nick is actually how I met George. (He's Nick & Ellen in the Book) Anyway, here it is. Have your way with me. If you guys can put up embarassing pics I guess I can too. That wig was pink by the way. I wish I still had it. It was genius.

What a wonderful post! We need to get Michael Madison in on this topic. I remember feeling annoyed when Nick at Nite ran a contest a few years back between I Dream of Jeannie and Bewitched, as viewers to decide who was the more powerful - Jeannie or Samantha Stevens. Was there ever any contest? Samantha rules. [This message was edited by Luxury Lex on 08-30-03 at 10:36 AM.]

Johnny Cash, one of country music's most iconic figures, has died at the age of 71. Cash died at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, "due to complications from diabetes, which resulted in respiratory failure", said Lou Robin, his manager. The announcement shocked fans, who had been relieved to hear that Cash had been released from hospital on Tuesday after three weeks of treatment for an inflammation of the pancreas. Although Cash had been hospitalised frequently over the past several...

In that movie Q&A, just yesterday on Bravo. You're right, Colleen, for the most part it was a horrible film, though I always enjoy Timothy Hutton -- I think he's so cute in that Irish choir boy way. Anyway, I loved Chrysis in it! You can definately see similarities between her and Candis Cayne. Chrysis's brief stint on stage was so mesmorizing, and especially her final moment on screen, with no lines, where Nick Nolte is trying to coax her across the room.

BRILLIANT! Thanks so much for that Dean..it brought a much-needed laugh. I have just finished editing the tribute video for NOTS of the legends past..That reminded me to mention that the original concept for NOTS actually was presaged in 1981 when Gennaro Palermo staged a Stevie lip-synch performance of mine for Haoui Montaug's cabaret. Talk about people being appalled, they really were at the time. Yes, amazingly, I never heard about your famous Pyramid show till the very early years of...

I "did" Stevie a few times at R&R Fag Bar at The World in the Eighties. Once I did Fleetwood Mac's extended version of "Rhiannon" complete with Stevie's eight-minute interpretive dance solo while Christine McVie (Tabboo!) sat on the side of the stage applying make-up, eating potato chips and reading the National Enquirer. Then when I reached the big finale, Christine stood up behind me, held up a huge sign that said 'MUFF DIVA' and walked off the stage.

Ha! Right after I saw this posting I found this quote in the EdgeNY article: " "I think the funniest moments for me were the first ones because it just seemed so absurd," said Johnson. "I remember sitting in the dressing room with Chi Chi and Joey Arias (we were the only three Stevies that night) and thinking, 'Well, this is avant-garde!'" "And then Joey went up and started singing along to 'Stand Back'...but he didn't know the words and he had a coke straw hanging out of his nose," Johnson...

Can I also just point out that we save "Stand Back" for Joey every year? It's a Stevie tradition. It's also a tradition that he never learn the words. EVERY year he says, "I'm going to really learn the words this time" but he never does. The funniest moment was a few years ago (after he swore he knew he words) Joey was in the middle of a verse, just sort of mumbling and I turned the music off letting him mumble acapella. I did it about three times exposing him. He was mortified. Even though...
