Lived for her in Burnt Offerings. Not to mention Airport '77. The cross-eyed stewardess must land the plane. It doesn't get much better than that.

Perfection! The double whammy of her incredible range, and the impeccable acting just left one gasping. She sent you through every emotional permutation. Courageous, tragic, bawdy, innocent ... she transmuted her flesh minute by minute ... (and may I add... she's a walking, romping, stomping ad for NOT having surgery.) And can she ever sing... beautiful!!!! And when it was all over, utterly gracious and friendly, saying Hi there to every fan who came up to her, knocking us over again with the charisma. I got her autograph! Too bad people missed it... it was too short a venue, really. We were ready to go back the next day, except she plumb wore us out.
