"Party Monster" seems to hold promise as an interesting film. As someone who witnessed the rise and fall of the club kid movement, I'm very curious to see how they treat the subject matter - how realistic or how white washed? Also given that it's from the same company that brought us Poison, Hedwig & the Angry Inch and Velvet Goldmine, I'm sure it will be dazzling on some level. Michael Alig is not Macaulley Culkin, Bobby, you're right, and vice versa. And is Seth Green James St. James? And Wilmer Valderama Keoki, and Wilson Cruz Angel and etc, on down the line? No they are actors removed from the story! They might've known about the people in question but saying Culkin is Alig is like saying Will and Grace doesn't play with gay stereotypes! ie not true!

Recently finished a fab toothpick of a book called A Massive Swelling by Cintra Wilson. The subtitle is "Celebrity Re-examined as a Grotesque Crippling Disease" and it truly lives up to its name. I don't know how I missed Wilson before but she is a force to be reckoned with. Here is just a small taste Big thanks to Clark, who gave this to me as a birthday prezzie.

when was the last time you heard that one? hehehheh. I have always been a fan - in fact, I consider my self to be incredibly madonna damaged - so heavily influenced by her earlier work - that I cant really criticize her without turning the mirror on myself (you know - affecting personas, trying to sing, attempting to bare your soul and finding only a sheet of ice under there). Having said that, I saw Cher's farwell tour the night before and, as a stage performer, Cher really carries the day.
