Don't feel so bad. Back in 1996, I thought I was buying coke from the now dearly departed drug troll Angel. Turned out to be K and after me and about six other people proceeded to hoover it up we had to be escorted from the bathroom and through the crowd by Kitty because we were so fucked up. For some reason, even though I felt fucked up at the time, I still look back on that night and smile. Ah, club life!

I agree that M2M (or as Flloyd and I like to call it, F2M) is a step in the right direction for the NYU-infested 3rd ave. I'm a big fan of the Unagi which they have for very cheap. But overall I'm still partial to good old SUNRISE MART (it's on Stuyvesant Street just east of 3rd - take the elevator). Viva la japonaise! Y-U-C-K. It was a curiosity, but how awful. Terrible script, WORSE acting. A total embarassment. What was up with Macauley's "gay accent"? And the rat sequence at the end?? I half-enjoyed the book. I went with no expectations, so at least this wasn't the let down that it could have been, but still... And Christopher, I used to agree about Macauley...but now his lips have a more-odd puffiness to them that I just didn't find alluring.

I would rather see Bradlees back. So many bargains and not quite as low quality merch as K-mart. Garden of Eden is much friendlier than Whole Foods whose organic produce is overpriced. But I guess its better than having another movie multi-plex or Disney outlet, I guess.

Adams family have dedicated a big old tree in Tompkins Sq park to him (more on WHICH tree it is later) another nice way to rememember him by. They have donated his huge and legendary record collection to the Archive of Contemporary Music Collection (Bob George). I actually don't know much about this collection - does anyone?
