Hello.
Sorry you did not have a good time Jenny. Please stop saying "I can't wait!" It is quite repetitive. I loved the party. Thank you Chi Chi. The wonderful performer on the taxicab is Rainblow, otherwise known as Russell. We came following Queen Mother Flawless Sabrina's advice. Russell has been adopted by the girls at Lucky Chang. He works there Friday and Saturday. His schedule changes on the work week.
"I can't wait" i think is her signature... be easy on the wee lass .... Bless
Night of a Thousand STevies? Yeah I went to it. Blew chunks. I'd rather stay home and eat my girlfriends nightbird if ya catch my drift. At least I can smoke when I do that!
Hey Nanners,
Where ya been? Ya big ol' rug munchin' ho!
I'm with you hon.
Ain't nuthin' like stayin' home with the old ball an' chain and lightin' up a couple a big ones.
But you got to try this "White Wing Dove" thing that Apollonia showed me an' Jackie.
Right up your alley hon.
That's where it goes...

Thanks for the info, Dres. Tell Rainbow she was one of my favorite things about the whole evening, even when she sloshed her drink on me during the final battle!

Bonnie, don't go giving away any trade secrets on me!
Sorry hon but that "White Wing Dove" trick a yours got me right back on track! I was kinda backed up for a while there if you know what I mean. Just couldn't take a propper dump. But that little trick a yours really set me straight. I'm fine now. Thanks.
Sorry if I am getting off the subject of rug munchin', butt blowing and Jenny bashing....I just wanted to thank Chi Chi, Jonny, and Hattie for, once again, throwing another fab. NOTS! I did miss a few performances due to being back stage too much (waiting to go on...)so that, plus the club being too hot, was my only complaint . I know the Knitting Factory is a well known venue but I miss the days of the smaller, more intimate crowds and venues. Oh well....if NOTS is getting too big and too well known I guess I shouldn't complain. Hope to see all next year (alas moving to Vegas may be hard on my NOTS fund). Thanks for the pictures (Catanna) and shout out (Tommy).-Amber Garbo

You were great this year.
You're always good of course, but this year was my favorite.
Good Luck in Vegas.

Hi Amber. I wasn't at NOTS but had several friends go to see Boy George. They saw the pic you had taken with him and told me how much they enjoyed your performance. And they really meant it!
You both took a really marvelous pic! How did you manage to wrangle him? Did you speak to him at all?

Hi KiKi- I didn't speak to Boy George a whole lot. He was preoccupied with lighting a cigarette and figuring out if he wanted to do "Go Your Own Way" Reggee style or not. I was surprised he agreed to take a picture with me since other people told me he wasn't signing autograghs or taking photo's with people so I am fortunate ! I am happy that your friends thought alot of my performace. It's always good to know that others take notice. Well gotta go-it's late and I gotta work in the morning .-Amber Garbo
There are eight thousand stories to each 1000 Stevies - these are but two:
The Crow Stays In The Picture
My performance partner at this year's NOTS, Russell Crow, almost stole the show this year. Congrats, Russ!
Our number was inspired by the Belladonna cover art (see below) and was originally going to be done to Nightbird, but the song is too slow to trundle and "kick out" - two of my favorite Stevie steps. A few days before the show I found out that due to the major soundproofing on the stage walls, we couldnt bang in our set to the back wall like usual. I had my heart set on Russell'sm NOTS debut, but It seemed like the background was going to be too black for the crow to read onstage. I begged Monsieur Dynell to find an answer, and he already had decided to blow up the poster HUGE, which became this year's set. And The Crow Stayed In The Picture, and is still twirling and receiving fan mail at my house.
Nobody ever sees Johnny at NOTS, but in this and 1,000 other ways he is the true Magician of The Night.
The Rhiannon Charm
Every year since she gave it to me, Ive carried or worn a small celtic Rhiannon charm in silver that our beloved Nursie Randella brought me back from her travels somewhere. Two weeks before The Night, out with Russell, I discovered that the charm had fallen off his neck as I got out of a cab, and when I discovered it missing I went back to look for it. A few days later we started to get calls from several performers with accidents or personal tragedies. We missed you - Jade Barbee, Lizzie Davis, Rhiannon Gruber - and we hope things have improved. By the day of the show I was so convinced that the loss of the charm was causing this that you can be sure I spent the afternoon of the show searching for another one!
NOTS 14 was by far my favorite of the "Modern Age" Stevies - of course Stevie 2 was equally memorable for me, just 1/10 the size! Huge thanks to all of our performers, incredible crew and especially long-time NOTS legends Jimmy James, Poison Eve, Belladonna, Amber Garbo, Nicole Nicks and Billy O -

Chi Chi- Did you ever find a replacement charm?? It's very strange how things like that are tied together. Once again, you brighten up the stage with your performance and personality (even with the darkest of backdrops ). I also wanted to make a comment about Johnny Dynell. What a big impact he contributes to the flow of the show! He has always been supportive and motivating. Always a pleasure to see you every year Johnny and thank you for your well wishes on my move. I can't say I agree with Daisy Mae in keeping the venue @ the Knitting Factory only because climbing up four flights of stairs in platform boots isn't my idea of easy. Also the heat seemed unbearable in the front of the stage in the crowd (were my freinds were). Maybe if the fans were on and the AC was cranked....Although the balcony was a nice get away! -Amber Garbo
Amber my dear-
No, I never found the charm, but it all worked out - EXCEPT our achy-breaky feet!! We'll have to do a staircase chair, an upstairs balcony dressing room, or something for performers, cause in most other ways this venue is the best for the event AT THE SIZE IT HAS BECOME.
And barring a complete change in management there, I would say we will be returning to the Knit next year. Heat being a factor, we may move the date up to late April, as it used to be...
Anyhoo, you were such a lovely part of the show and thanks for the oh-so-thoughtful gift - Im still enjoying it!

Thank you Chi Chi! I was surfing the web the other day to see if anyone else has posted NOTS reviews &/or pics and found something very interesting. Please check out these sites: www.burnish.net & www.angelsgypyssarasrhiannonsofstevienicksfans@groups.msn.com
to see Jenny's same word for word review on NOTS. Wonder how many other sites she visited and posted the same review.... Please feel free to post a reply to her on those site as I did on burnish.net(I should be the last entry. Type in key words "night of 1000 stevies" at the bottom). FYI-Amber Garbo

Hello everyone...my response is a bit late because i decided to "dance across the stages of the world" (well sort of)- i decided to be spontaneous and go visit a friend in italy. lately i've been feeling sort of bummed out in the nyc. just got back (and now i am absolutely broke) and just wanted to thank Chi Chi, Jonny, and Hattie for creating this enchanting night. My fourth NOTS and my first year performing and I can't believe I waited this long to do it...what an experience!
Any chance this show was videotaped?
"I will not forget this night."
Thanks again...purple gypsy
